James Raleigh, President and a Director of Clinton Mills Sales Corp., will be honored by the Textile Division of the AntiDefamation League Appeal at a testimonial luncheon to be held April 20, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City. He will receive the ADL Torch of Liberty Award. Robert W. Walker, President of Stonecutter Mills Corp., is chairman of the luncheon. Bruce Roberts, Vice President of Eastman Chemical Products Inc., Carl Rosen, President of LoomtexCorp., and Ronald E. Jason. Vice President-Sales of Clinton Mills Sales Corp., are co-chairmen. John M. Bendheim, Vice President of M. Lowenstein Corp., is the honorary chairman. Mr. Raleigh previously served Clinton Mills Sales Corp. as Vice President-Sales and as National Sales Manager. Prior to joining the company, he held the positions of New England District Manager, Mid-West Regional Sales Manager, and Divisional National Sales Manager for Chicopee Mills, Inc. Toby, as he is called by his friends and fellow employees, began his work career at Clinton Mills in January, 1922. He was 14at the time. Following a tradition set by his father and grandfather, Campbell likes to tell that "I've never worked anywhere but Clinton Mills." For the senior service Clinton supply room employee, times have changed significantly since the early days when he hauled quills for $9.17 in a 60-hour week. "By today's standards, that's not much, but in 1922, that was the most money I'd ever seen." Campbell had worked on numerous spare jobs before transferring to supply 52 years ago.
