A good safety program is dependent upon c
the following prescribed safety rules. Recently,
each manufacturing and mainte- f
nance employee received copies of the respective
departmental safety rules. t
It is important to follow specific and general
departmental safety rules.

1) If you do not understand your job, or
the Safety Rules that apply to it, ask your I
Superintendent or Assistant Departmental 1
Superintendent about any details which are
not clear. i
2) Report immediately all accidents, i
however slight, to your Superintendent or <
Assistant Departmental Superintendent.
3) Do not wear loose or "baggy" clothing <
around machines.
4) Do not stand on boxes, cans, trucks or
machines.

8) Keep bobbins, quills, and waste off
loor.
9) Keep aisles and passageways clear of
rucks, boxes, roving cans, etc.
10) When pushing trucks and boxes, always
place hands on inside. Use care to

defective machinery, guards, microswitches,
interlocks, or other equipment.
13) When necessary to remove safety devices
to work on a machine, be sure they are
replaced before starting the machine.
14) No running or horse-play is permitted
in the plants.
15) Always use hand rails while on stairs.
16) Before starting a machine, be sure no
one is working on it.
17) Never carry an open knife unless it is
in actual use and always cut away from you.
18) Never ride on elevators except when
authorized to do so. Do not attempt to oper
