Textile Lvrirs
Are Written
In conjunction with Textile Week, the
North Carolina Textile Manufacturer's Association,
in cooperation with leading textile
employees across the state, sponsored an
employee textile lyrics contest that will become
a part of the North Carolina Textile
Week observance.
The winning song, written by Marilyn B.
Forster of Cone Mills Corporation of Greensboro,
N.C., is reproduced below.
(Clinton Mills' Elastic Fabrics of America
plant is located in Greensboro. N.C.)
IN NORTH CAROLINA, TEXTILES
North Carolina textiles
Means fabrics for our land.
In North Carolina, textiles
And jobs go hand in hand.
From the mountains to the ocean.
Whatever the name or brand
In North Carolina, textiles
Makes living here so grand!
A quarter-million people working
And building their futures each day.
For homes and familiesand communities,
too,
The North Carolina way.
With pride in every product,
Each worker can point and say,
We do a lot in the time we've got.
Each North Carolina day.
The envy of the nation,
With our fibers, cloth and foam.
In North Carolina, textiles
And jobs have made a home!
