"It takes more than a few nails and a pile
of lumber to "turn out" a nice building,"
says Sam Owens, Clinton Lab Supervisor.
"I never built anything in my life," stated
Owens, "so a few months ago I started putting
it all together. Once the building site
was selected, the foundation area leveled,
and the cement flooring poured, I needed
only time and lots of determination to transform
my labor and materials into a useful,
attractive facility."
"This is smethmg I can take pride in,"

been involved in manufacturing a quality
product for Clinton Mills, but never really
had the satisfaction of building something
for myself."
The 16x20 wooden structure serves as a
home work shop for Owens as well as a storage
building. Once the structure was completed,
he immediately added storage
shelves, tool racks, wall electrical outlets,
etc.
In making certain the facility served multiple
uses, Owens added extra wide entrance
doors, an abundant supply of lighting, and
extra supports to handle any heavy objects
placed in a hidden storage space overhead.
"It's an accomplishment for me to have
completed this project," he added, "if you
set out to do something, it's amazing what
you can do if you make every effort to do the
project in the best possible manner."

"It was a time consuming project, because
I 'd have to stop and go to the hardware
store or lumber yard to get what I needed.
There were times when even that became
difficult because I knew what I wanted, but
didn't know what to ask for."
