Clinton Plants 1 and 2 and Office employees
contributed ninety pints of blood
last month to the Company sponsored blood
assurance plan through the Carolina Blood
Center.
vuuer me program, me center provides
unlimited blood replacements anywhere in
the United States for the employee, their
spouse and dependents. For a single employee,
coverage is extended for parents and
parents' dependents.
Although the plan provides for unlimited
replacement of blood and blood components,
it does not cover the processing fees
charged by the hospital for their services.
Employees donating blood are given a partial
physical examination which includes a
brief medical history, blood pressure and
pulse check, temperature and hematocrit
(iron) check.
It normally takes about 10 minutes for the
blood to be extracted from the donor. After
the blood is drawn, the employee donor is
given juice and cookies and asked to rest
about 10 minutes.
