About 400 runners from across the
Southeast wove their way through
downtown Clinton October 13 as the Textile
10,000 race was held.
Sjtonsored by the South Carolina Textile
Manufacturer's Association, the
event drew 150 more runners than in 1978
uihpn Clinton Mills and Crpenwond Mills
began the event.
Skip Frye, an English teacher at
Laurens District High School, ran the
course in a little more than 33 minutes.
Beginning near the Templeton gym on
the Presbyterian College campus, the
race drew hundreds of spectators
throughout the 6.2 mile course.
Numerous Clinton Mills employees
volunteered to assist in the event.
