April Procl This month our city's and county's leading and largest employer, the textile industry, is conducting Textile Careers Month, a campaign aimed at attracting new and prospective employees. Textile Careers Month is a joint effort of textile companies to make people more aware of the challenges and rewards open to them in an industry that offers more than just a job?an industry that offers a career. Several thousands of our citizens have found job security and advancement in this industry and have helped themselves as well as others in so doing. Our local textile industry's multimillion dollar payrolls are the bedrock and bellwether of our city's and county's economy and additionally they have made many substantial contributions toward the building of medical, educational, recreational and youth activities facilities and the financing of higher education through scholarships and grants. It is fitting that the industry sponsor and promote Textile Careers Month, for, the future of Clinton depends greatly on its textile companies and the people making their careers here at home.
