son of Mr. and Mrs. Truman Owens.
~ have been named as Clinton Mills dele
gates to Palmetto Boys State. The two
were selected by a special committee
from the high school.
Boys State is a convention for training
the young men for their future
responsibility as leaders in government
in our state. They will join other delegates
from high schools throughout the
state this summer on the Citadel campus
in Charleston.

The group was greeted by Clinton
Mills Director of Engineering C. Bailey
Dixon. He outlined the program
planned for the group and explained
the safety rules applicable to all visitors.
Mack Parsons of the Industrial Relations
Department showed a slide
W presentation entitled "WELCOME TO
CLINTON MILLS." Dixon and Silas
Campbell, Assistant Plant Engineer,
narrated a series of electrical and air
conditioning slides illustrating the operations
performed within the Clinton
IVTills complex.
The group toured the manufacturing,
electrical, and air conditioning areas
of Plants 1 and 2

Course
Six Clinton Mills employees recently
completed a nine weeks' course in EFFECTIVE
SUPERVISION. The course

of Piedmont Technical Educational
Center.

Cronic has been appointed by Governor
John West to the eight member Upper

He will work with other board members
in assisting Governor West in
planning and developing the manpower
capabilities and human resources within
the state.
The board will make recommendations
to the State Manpower Council
concerning the various operations, size,
and activities of manpower programs
funded by the Manpower Administration.
Cronic is the only industrial member
on the board. He and his co-committee
members will study the labor markets
in the area, make economic projections,
and suggest needed manpower services
for the Upper Savannah Region and
other areas
