Check Income Tax
Exemptions for Refund
If you want a lax refund this year
(and who doesn't), you'd belter check
the amount being withheld from your
weekly paycheck.
Changes in the Tax Reform Act of
1969 mean that if you claim the same
deduction you did last year, the amount
withheld this year may not be enough
to pay your 1971 Tax Bill.
The Internal Revenue Service has
issued a bulletin advising that many
working couples do not have enough
tax withheld from wages each week to
cover the amount due for 1971.
Most couples with both husband and
wife working will owe additional tax
wnen iney me returns at the end of
the year.
Persons at Clinton Mills who wish to
have more tax withheld each week
should go to the Personnel Office and
fill out a new form W-4. claiming
fewer exemptions for withholding purposes.
By having a greater amount withheld
each week, you will owe less tax
when you file your annual tax return.
If the amount taken out is greater than
the tax you owe, it will be refunded.

The award was presented by Gen.

Executive Vice President and Mrs.
George H. Cornelson.
