Delegates To Boys State
Mike Blackwell, left, and Robert
Hiers, right, have been named as
Clinton Mills delegates to Palmetto
Boys State. The boys, both rising
seniors at Clinton High School, are
sons of Clinton Mills employees.
Blackwell is the son of Clinton
Mills Store Manager and Mrs.
William Blackwell. The Blackwells
live on E. Walnut Street
Hiers is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Marion Hiers. They live on Wood
row Street.
Boys' State is, in effect, a convention
for training the young men
of South Carolina for their future
responsibility as leaders in government
in our state.
In June the boys will join other
delegates from high schools
throughout South Carolina at the
Citadel in Charleston. Here they
will demonstrate their leadership
and will be trained in practical
democratic principles of government.
Easter Monday
All Clinton Mills plants observed
Easter Monday, April 12. as a paid
holiday.
In accordance with the company's
paid holiday policy. Easier Monday
was a holiday with pay for all eligible
employees.

Impressed With CM
Anniversary Sales Meet
Fourteen salesmen who are representatives
of leading sales organizations <
throughout the United States were i
"highly impressed" with Clinton Mills
as they attended a 75th Anniversary
Sales Meeting here earlier this month.
Representing the staffs of Joseph S.
Caliga Co.. Boston; Charles C. Davis
and Co.. Chicago; Swirles and Company.
Los Angeles and Dallas; and
Keller-Haver. Inc.. a New York advertising
agency, the group participated
in a series of management-sales conferences
and plant tours planned to
strengthen Clinton's competitive position
in rapidly changing textile markets.
"We are indeed fortunate to be represented
in textile markets by such
fine sales organizations," slated Clinton
Mills President Robert M. Vance.
"These men are our "Front Line"
representatives to the customer for the
superior quality fabrics produced by <
our more than 1800 loyal employees."

organization, Clinton Mills Sales Corporation,
of New York; and representatives
of the company's two knitting
operations. Elastic Fabrics of America,
Ft. Washington, Pa., and Superior
Knits, Inc., of Greensboro, N. C.

Daylight Saving Time
For CM
DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME for
1971 came to Clinton Mills at 2 a.m.
on April 25.
All Clinton Mills plants, along with
South Carolina and most of the Nation,
advanced their clocks forward one
hour.
Clinlon Mills will continue on Daylight
Saving Time for 1971 until the
fourth Sunday in October. Then the
hour lost on April 25 will be regained
as all clocks and time pieces are set
3ack.
