They are expelled into the air when he sneezes, coughs, talks or laughs. Then they get into the noses and m o u t h of other people and cause disease. Q. Why do some people say you should stay out of crowded places during an epidemic? A. When there are a number of people in relatively close quarters like classrooms and buses, the air can become heavily loaded with *: _i _i . - virus panicles during an epidemic. It s almost impossible to stay out of the path of coughs and sneezes. Q. Will a flu shot build up your resistance to colds? A. No. It is effective only against influenza viruses, and sometimes against only one particular viral strain. O. Can 1 get flu from the vaccine? A. The best immunity lasts for about six months and can be restored by a "booster shot."
