But rural remedies aren't the only form of ''do-it-yourself" medicine that causes more illness than it cures. Some people have a way of peering into the medicine cabinet; selecting something with an appealing color, shape, or odor; and taking a dose. Since joining the group five years ago, Campbell has trained several other members to aid in the underwater rescue operat ir*ri? Scuba diving is his favorite pastime. With over $300 invested in diving suits, air tanks, and other equipment, he can handle emergencies involving boat accidents. \v recks, and drowning victims. Campbell noted that squad members are strictly volunteers. Equipment and supplies are purchased with funds donated b\ private organizations anc individuals.
