! I a person docs not leave
a will providing for disposal
of an estate, under South
Carolina law the state determines
the heirs and the share
that goes to each.
This fact is brought to our
attention by Dr. G. H. Aull
in "The Carolina Economist"
which he edits for the South
Carolina National Bank.
"It goes without saying,"
Dr. Aull comments, "that in
most cases the individual has
a far better idea than the
government of who should
have what of the property he
has accumulated.
"An even more compelling
reason for making a will is
unit, without it, there is a
good chance that the estate
may be so broken lip and
disorganized as to make it
unproductive over a period
of many years. Under prosSome

A rooming house landlord
received a phone call from
the mother of a college fresh
num. rlease Keep an eye on
Albert for me," begged the
mother. "See that he gets
plenty of sleep and doesn't
drink or run around too much.
"You see," she added in an
apprehensive tone, "this is the
first time he's been away from
home ? except for two years
in the Marines."

The main trouble with timewasters
is that a good deal of
the time they waste does not
belong to them.

id Estate
Costly
urn. (.uuuiiiuiib, in particular,
hardly anyone can aliord the
luxury of an unplanned estate.
Dr. Aull then quotes from
an unknown author the following:
"A will is a wish, sealed
words,
"A will is your last word,
unspoken yet irrevokable.
"A will is your philosophy,
made public forever.
"A will is your living faith,
echoing through the years.
"A will is your absolute
ballot, a vote for things eternal.
"A will is your legal resurrection,
you being dead, yet
speak."
To this Dr. Aull adds:
"Truly, as the saying goes,
'Where there's a WILL,
There's a W A Y . . . Your
way!'" It's sound advice.

. . Some with a Different Twist
"The man who occupied this
room," said the landlady, "was
an inventor, lie invented an
explosive."
"I suppose those spots on
the wall are the explosive,"
said the roomer.
"No," said the landlady.
"They are the inventor."

Policeman: "Did you see
the number of the car that
knocked you down, madam?"
Woman: "No, but the
woman in it wore a black
turban trimmed in red and
her coat was imitation fur."
