J "* "* flu outbreak. What flu outbreak? How do you stay out of it? One question at a time: Flu this winter? The U. S. Public Health Service says probably yes. The disease strikes every two to three years; this is the year when Type A primarily is due. But a certain amount of Type B is looked for, too. What's it like? Some influenza symptoms are like those of the common cold, only more so. Sore throat, nasal congestion, dry cough, chills, fever, muscular aches and pains, general weakness. Temperature rises quickly. T O * * !nuw serious r IVlOSt people recover within a week. But sometimes pneumonia develops. Other possible complications: bronchitis, sinus trouble, ear infection. What to do? Call a doctor. Stay in bed as long as he tells you to. Don't expect miracles with "wonder drugs" ? they don't work against most viruses, and flu is a virus disease.
