"His Business and Only Business,"
to paraphrase a wellknown
business slogan, since
that date has been textiles.
In 1952 he made his first of
a series of literary contributions
to the textile industry.
His book "Swirles Handbook
on Basic Fabrics," now in its
third edition, is used by the
trade and in libraries throughout
the world. Six universities
are currently using it as a textbook
in textile classes. His research
in the development and
publication of the highly informational
handbook opened
still another textile interest
and business opportunity for
the young executive. The Textile
Testing Institute, of which
he is founder, is the largest

For a change of pace and relaxation,
he loves to read and

reflect a part of his brilliance
and artistic abilities.
