WEAVING NO. 3
1ST SHIFT
by ? Grace Wooten

Wouldn't it be wonderful
if we did have the time to do
the things we feel that we
should do. But we haven't had
the time to talk to our fellow
employees enough since vacation
to find out where they
all went. But the most im
portant thing is, that all our
folks here in Weaving No. 3,
first shift came back safely
from anywhere they may
have gone, and the only complaint
I've heard is that "They
didn't have enough time."
We're glad to report that

close call and we're grateful
that she's doing so well. By
the way, she had a birthdav

Evans Lever and his family
visited St. Augustine, Marine
Land and Silver Springs,
Florida during vacation week,
in a brand new Dodge. Eb
said he enjoyed the car more
than any he'd ever owned.
We're happy to report Ruth
Thornton back at work after
suffering burns when she
opened a pressure cooker too
early.
Well our weavers' training
program is underway. Sam
Owens, Evelyn Simmons and
George Avery have taken the
instructors training and are
doing an excellent job.
We wish for the instructors
and trainees the very best.

anyone went with them or
not, but they have a standing

Fellow Employees. Please
Take Notice!
If you have news you would
like to have in the Clothmaker,
please note the date
on the bulletin board each
month for the deadline and if
I haven't gotten to you a day
or two before that date just
jot down an outline of facts
of what you want printed and
hand it to me. If I Had The
Time, I'd come around each
month.

Seal On Dollar Bill
Represents Our
Nation's Spiritual
and Material Aims
Have you got a dollar bill?
Turn it over to the greenback.
In the two circles at either
end of the bill are reproduced
the two sides of the Great
Seal of the United States.
Have you ever taken a good
look at it and do you know _
what it means?
The pyramid in the left
hand circle represents the
material strength of our
country. Directlv above it is
the "eye of God." It emphasizes
the importance of putting
the spiritual welfare of
our country above its material
prosperity. Above the
pyramid and the eve are the
words "ANNUIT COEPTIS."
This Latin motto is translated
as "He (God) has favored our
undertakings."
Directly under the pyramid
are three more Latin words.
"NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM,"
which means a new
order of the ages and this re
iers 10 tne new and revolutionary
concept of government.
Across the base of the
pyramid are the Roman
numerals MDCCLXXVI
(1776) the beginning of the
United States as an independent
nation.
Tne right hand circle displays
the eagle, our national
emblem.
The shield on the eagle's
breast contains 13 stripes reminding
of the rights of the
individual states.
In the eagle's right talon is
the olive branch for peace. If
your eyes are good enough
you can count thirteen leaves.
In the eagle's left talon is a
bundle of thirteen a r r o w s
representing the power of
war.
Above the eagle's head is a
ring of light surrounding the
thirteen stars.
i tic ureal fteai is used on
official documents, medals,
currency, and certain publications
under the supervision
of the Secretary of State who
is its custodian.
