Well, wasn't it a short summer? Hope you were all ready for school to start. Mike Hardy of Clemson spent a week in August with his Aunt Dot and Uncle Joe Gibbs. Mr. and Mrs. Obe Thornton and Jo Anne visited in Calhoun Falls on a recent Sun day. Mrs. Ellison Roberts, Mary, Dessie Jean and Tammy spent a week at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Robert Saultzman and children of Denver. Colorado visited her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ashmore Dunaway. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Barker and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Putnam celebrated their wedding anniversaries with a dinner at Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Putnam's home in Woodruff Aueust 16. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Putnam were invited quests. Well, Calvary softball team did it again. They won both trophies for the fourth year in a row. Congratulations, team! Mrs. George Rice and daughter of Brevard. N. C.. visited Mrs. Mollie Martin and Inez on a recent Sunday. Miss Glenda P o w e r of Laurens and Charles Huey spent a week end at Myrtle Beach joining Glenda's mothe r. grandmother and other relatives who had gone FOUR CLINT Eight sons and daughters of employees are now furthering their education through loans made evailable to them by the Bailey Foundation. Eligibility requirements foi the interest-free loans are the same as for the college scholarship grants. i 1 NOW ATTENDING: Janice Goss?Winthrop Gary Goss?Clemson Sybil Windsor?Winthrop Bruce Mills-U. S. C. hk> _? on earlier in the week. Glad to have Dave Lawson back at work after an absence of seven (7) weeks due to surgery at Bailey Memorial Hospital. At the time of this writing Mrs. Tommy Lanford and Mrs. Janet Cauble are patients at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Neuffer Creswell and James Harris are patients at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood. Grace is off for a few days and at the time of this writing I don't know where she is. She didn't know where she was going, just somewhere where it is quiet so she could rest and enjoy it. Sure hope she and Cecil have a good time. Birthdays ? Dixie was [ 10 years old Sept. 9th. Sybil Windsor in Asian Studies Program Miss Sybil Windsor. Bailey 1 Foundation Loan Student. | will study Chinese at Winthrop this fall. Sybil, a rising senior, will be the fifth college student in the Carolinas to study the language. She has become interested in Asian Affairs and will receive a minor decree in the field next June. This fall she will also study Asian Government and Asian Philosophy in preparation for Graduate School Study at the University of Hawaii next year. Sybil, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. \V.
