Well everything is about
back to normal after vacation.
Everyone seems to have enjoyed
the week away from the
regular grind, even thoneh
_ w . O" some
didn't go anywhere and
some did work around the
house, still it was a change
from everyday routine and I
think we needed it. Many of
our folks did go off and some
traveled many miles from
home.
Josephine Allman, Thelma
Suttles and Gertrude Fowler
went to New York and the
World's Fair, with the Woman's
Club. Thelma and Gertrude
went shopping one day
and Thelma bought a hat box
so Gertrude bought a hat and
brought it back in the box.
Now that's team work! Shorty
Campbell said she might have
gone but since it was the
Woman's Club she didn't
think they'd want little girls
like her so she just went to
the lake every day and went
swimming, fishing and boating.
Though she can't swim
and didn't catch any fish, she
said she still enjoyed the
week.
Evans Lever and Ethel
spent the week awaiting the
arrival of their first grandchild,
who rewarded them by
arriving July 4th. It's a girl
and they named her Katherine
Ann. Mother and Daddy
are Judy and Joe Parks. Congratulations
to all.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gibbs and
Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Gibbs and
daughter, Denise, spent the
week at their regular vaca
tion place, Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
The difference this
time was the little grand
daughter and Joe said they
really enjoyed her being
along.
Mr. and Mrs. Neuffer Creswell
and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry
Heaton and children spent the
week in Treasure Island.
Florida.
Mrs. Ola Meadows and Mrs.
Ted Ward and children visited
Silver Springs, Orlanda,
Marineland. St. Augustine,
Florida and Fort Stewart,
Georgia. They didn't tarry
long at Fort Stewart, ask Ola
why!
Mrs. Glartvs Tin rrVi nt- o?-.a

son. Lewis, visited her father
in Walhalla vacation week.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kennedy
and Mr. and Mrs. David
Gregory and son visited Chimney
Rock and Mr. and Mrs.
Kennedy spent a few days in
Spartanburg with the Gregorys.
I know Roy really enjoyed
being with that little
grandson.
Mr. and Mrs. Obe Thornton
and daughter, Jo Ann, visited
relatives in Hazelhurst,
Georgia and spent a day also
with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Motes at their cabin on Lake
Greenwood.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Burns and
daughter, Janice, and Gail
Sawyer and Mrs. S. C. Foster

Beach near Wilmington, N. C.,

lives up there and is recuperating
from an earlier operation.
