Oxner attended the Oxner reunion at Fountain Inn September 8. Tonv Hooper and Douglas Rippy left Monday. September 9, for Clemson College where they will continue their studies. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Oliver and sons of Salem. S. C., were visitors of Robert and Edith Neal Sunday. September 8. Mrs. James Wells has returned home from Bailey Memorial hospital after a recent stay. We wish for a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. James King and family of Elbertson, ueorgia spent a recent week end with Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kidd and family. Mrs. Sid Riser. Stan and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Riser visited the mountains of North Carolina on a recent week end. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cunningham and children and Mrs. Bessie Queen visited in the mountains of North Carolina on a Sunday. The Leo Risers attended the Riser reunion in Waterloo the 25th of August. Mrs. James Wells and sister visited their mother. Mrs. Mary Mason, in the Columbia Hospital recently. We wish to express our sympathy to Sadie Powers in the death of her mother. The employees of Weaving No. 1, second shift extend their deepest sympathy to Sybil McCall due to the passing of her mother, Mrs. Ermie Stone. Miss Elizabeth Burgess arid Phil Greassun spoke toeir wedding vows in a church ceremony recently. Elizabeth is the niece of %Inv Mae Cook. The family of R. S. WEAVING NO. 3 1ST SHIFT by Emily & Grace Tommy Hazelrig, of Tampa, Florida spent a few days with Ned Handback before both left for Athens, Georgia to attend the University of Georgia for the coming year. Glad to report Ned survived a tonsilectomy and was ready and able to go back to school although he had a rough time with those tonsils. Charles Huev visited Miss Glenda Powers of Anderson College during the week end. Albert Turner, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Turner, will attend Gardner Webb College in North Carolina this year. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fowler attended the Bishop reunion the first of September at Greenwood Lake. Mrs. Missouri Wilkie and Melane Snelgrove visited Mrs. Fred Smith pi Gainesville, Georgia. Mr. and Mrs*Roy 'Kennedy spent a -recent week end in Shelby, North' Carolina with their daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Lawson visited his father. Sam Lawson, in^Pennington Gap, Virginia recentlv. S. Sgt. Billy Joe Lawson has been stationed in Abilene. T*exas and his wife and children .accompanied him there., Mr. and Mrs. Henrv Sirttle spent a vv^ek end in Marion, North Carolina with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Suttle. _ We asked Sam^Dwens if he had any news and he said he hadn't been home to see, he's been so busv trying io get the little boys lined upMor foot1 11 i i 1 uiin ne nasn i nad time to think. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hardy and children of Clemson spent a recent week end with Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gibbs. Mrs. Ashmore Dunaway is visiting relatives and friends in Sarasota. Florida. Ashmore said he had a card from her and she's enjoying it so much she just might stay till Christmas. Mr. and Mrs. Ellison Roberts and family spent a recent Sunday in Fountain Inn with Mrs. Roberts' niece. Mrs. Ken Rice, and her family. They all attended church and enjoyed dinner, picnic style. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wade and two small granddaughters were recent guests of the Cecil Wootens. Fred is a cousin of Cecils, whom we had not seen in over 20 years. We really enjoyed their visit. Friends of Mr. and Mrs. 1). W. Bagwell will be interested to know that they have come back to Clinton to live after being away for about six years. Annie Mae said "c h i c k ens come home to roost," and she h oped to "roost" here the rest of her life, for this is really home to them.
