Coming as a great shock and bringing much sorrow to our Weave Rooms recently was the death of one of our fellow employees, Vivian Maye, who was burned to death when her home was destroyed by fire. He is survived by his father, M. G. Overstreet, wife, Lola Mae Overstreet, 3 sons, James, Henry and Douglas, 3 daughters, Mattie Dean, Virginia Baker, Betty Jo Flick. 2 half brothers. 2 half sisters. 5 sten sisters and 2 step brothers. M. G. Overstreet, former employee of Lydia, celebrated his 76th birthday February 3. Sorry to report Mrs. Vivian Maye perished in a fire which destroyed her home during January. It looks like bowling has become a major sport around Lydia. Our company is currently sponsoring a team in the Textile League in Spartanburg. The team consists of J. B. Vanderford, Wayne Templeton, Carl Reaves, Billy Fennell, Claude McElhannon Ralph Blackwell, Harold Sanders, Buck Gilstran. Others making regular trips to the bowling alley are Vinsor Templeton, Major Crawford William Bowling, Doyle Templeton, Wallace Bagwell. We were sorry to hear that Grace Tinsley lost her father recently. Lois Webb has a new grandson. The baby has been named Michel Wilton King. Beverly Webb King is the baby's mother.
