Satterfields. Winners Listed Many Entries I Home Decorati Many, beautiful and varied, t were home decorations and ( displays of Clinton and Lydia Community employees during the Christmas Season. Selection of prize winners were very difficult for the judges in the annual company-sponsored contest. Five pound fruit cakes were presented to first place winners in each Community. The residence of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gilliam at 119 Livingston was judged 1st place winner at Clinton. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Dunawav, 401 Jackson, was second and Miss Elizabeth plow back into new mechinjust leave all of it up to the Woodard's home at 107 Beauregard was third. Second place winners receive three pound fruit cakes third place two pounders. The Furman Bratchers traditionally have their home at 168 Cypress, Lvdia, beautifully decorated f o r Christmas. This year they had the most unique display of anyone in town . . . Santa atop a rocket lin.-iflnfl intn nntor Tlio Clinton Chronicle featured Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Wilkes and family spent Christmas Eve with the Milton Kings in Greenville. Mrs. L. A. Hall of Newberry spent Saturday with her daughter, the I. W. Harveys, and family at Lydia recently. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Pitts of Anderson spent the Christmas holidays with the Burton Reeders. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Reeder held their family gathering at their home on Bailey Street Christmas eve. Those present for tliis occasion were The Milton Kings of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne King of Clemson, Mr. and Mrs. O. C. Harris and family of Laurens, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jackson and family of Laurens, Miss Gloria Jackson of Lvdia, lone and Flow Wilkes and Miss Linda Corley. On December 17 the children of Mr. Jim Meadors honored him with a birthday dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Ficklin on Washington Street. The dinner was served buffet style. Those present for the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Armstrong and children, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Meadors and children and Miss Ann Meadors. Mr. Jim was 64 v?ars young. On Friday, December 22. Marsha, Randy, and Earl Turner entertained a few friends at their home on Elizabeth Street. The guests were seated in the living room gaily decorated for the season. The Christmas mood n Christmas ion Contest he display in "Scenes Around Clinton" at Christmas time. The Adger Crawford, Jr. family, 33 Peachtree, took top honors at Lvdia. The S. F. Blackwells were a close second and the William Fennclls a good third. Eight other homes received honorable mention. They were: The J. B. Vanderfords, E. C. Burdettes, F u r m a n Bratchers, B. F. Harveys, J. T. Lanfords, Alice Sniders and B. F. Sinclairs. was set by music on the HiFi and Christmas selections played on the piano by Jane Trammell and Randy Turner, a duet "What Child is This" sung by Earl Turner a n d Belinda Leonard accompanied by Randy Turner. After the music the group played numerous party games. The hostess, Miss Marsha Turner, and one of her small sisters, Lana, served the guests party sandwiches, potato chips, cokes, pickles, cake and ice cream.
