Mr. and Mrs. Cassie Jove attended the funeral of their uncle, Mr. Julius Dennis, at Old Muddy Creek Methodist Church of Johnsonville, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Jenkins and family of Indianapolis, Ind. visited Mr. and Mrs. B. Wright. Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Thomas and family are visiting Mr. and Mrs. B. Wright. Miss Carolyn Heaton returned home with them for the week end. We are glad to have Ralph Nelson back with us after being out with a broken arm. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each employee of the second shift, spinning room of the little mill and to the Community Chest for what they did for me while I was out with a fractured arm. Oakley visited Robert Moore who is a patient at Veterans Hospital in Columbia. They report he is very much improved and hopes it won't be long before he will be back home and on his job. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Folds of Augusta, Georgia spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Jones Wallenzine, coming especially for the Smith Reunion held at the Joanna picnic shelter on October 8th. There were around seventy five relatives and friends there, coming from North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. All had a wonderful time. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ivester gave a birthday dinner Sunday, October 8th, honoring Mrs. Bertie Hedspeth on her birthday. M. at Greasy Corner. They will have rides, games, excitement with the spooks of Halloween, F ortune Teller, Country Store and food for everyone, cake and coffee, hot doos, hamburgers and soft drinks. Wear a costume or come as you are for an evening of fun.
