4 Many Employees C .i ? . b* A-.-? .lafeAJ Fjl "Nub" 1 Many, varied and unique are the hobbys of ClintonLvdia employees. Fishermen number in the hundreds. Hunters, skiers, photographers. and race car builders are close behind. Another group fastly adding to their ranks are the numismatists. Don't be alarmed bv the name, they are a growing group of coin collectors. Recently in the Clinton area interest in searching for, evaluating, keeping, selling and trading for coins has become a fascinating hobby for many. Most of us do not realize the value of certain coins that are circulating and pass through our hands daily. Not so with "Nub" Barker. T. D. Douglas, Marie Weir. Lucy Marshall, Claude Gilstrap. David Word. Marion Nabors. Rev. J. W. Spillers, Gay Douglas, Fran Lancaster Clinton News ... were recent visitors in G reenville. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Coins which demand premuim prices are discussed, studied and traded by the collectors. Coins range in value from only a few cents over the face value to hundred and thousands of dollars. One local club member is reported to have recently paid $70.00 for a One cent piece. Although the value of certain coins might make the collection of them seem like a business, Clinton-Lydia employee collectors consider their interest as a hobby primarily for pleasure and education. A secondary consideration is that of investment, the profits from which are realized over a lone oeriod of time based on intelligent purchases of the best grades of coins. ton after a 4 week stnv with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Marcell Barker.
