It is a wonderful blessing and that is the number of years Rev. and Mrs. George James have enjoyed married bliss. The occasion was a drop in, July 1. given at their home, near Startex, by their children. They are the parents of Grace Wooten and Ruth Oxner, Clinton Mills. Clinton News ... Campbell of Laurens. Mrs. Blanch Campbell of the Draw-In-Room. Clinton Mills spent a few days in New York City with the Womans Club of Clinton Mills. She said she really had a niee time. Mr. and Mrs. George Crouch and family of War, West Virginia visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Proffitt during vacation. Mr. and Mrs. James Page visited the mountains of Cherokee and Ghost Town. N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Elbert Lawson and son, Joe, went to Myrtle Beach for a few days. Mr. Maxie Blakely and Mr. .Tank Johnson of Snar. tanburg visited Mrs. Ursula Blakely on July the Fourth, which was Mr. Blakely's birthday. They all enjoyed a barbecue dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Dunaway visited the Great Smokey Mountains dining vacation. Mr. and Mrs. B. Wright and Miss Nancy Byrley visited Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Thomas. Mr. and Mrs. John T. O'Shields and the John Collins spent several days at Montreat, North Carolina with the Corks. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dunawav of Rockwell, North Carolina visited Mr. and Mrs. J. J. McGinnis and family recently. Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Jove went down to the Medical College Hospital in Charleston for the heart operations of Mrs. Jove's nephew, Mr. Roger Powell, and also h?r cousin. Mrs. Rudv Stone, on the same day. Mrs. Mollie Garrett visited Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Price durine the work of the Fourth of July. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Lewis and two sons, Ricky and Mike, and Mr. and Mrs. Erskitie Milam visited Follv Beach during the Fourth. Mr. and Mrs. Earl McCullough of Washington, D. C. spent the week of the Fourth with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earnest McCullough, and while they were here they motored through the mountains of North Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Harris and children of Lexington and Mr. and Mrs. Hayes Watson and son of Columbia visited their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earnest McCullough. Mrs. Edna Heaton spent the past week end with her mother, Mrs. Earnest Eskew, of Greenville. Mrs. Noloeka Foster spent her vacation in New York with the Clinton and Lydia Mills Womans Club. Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Osborne and children and Sue and Bo Osborne visited in the mountains of North Carolina during vacation. While we were there we rode Tweetsie and it was fun. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Anthony and children visited relatives in Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia during the Fourth and Bobby's sister, Barbara, returned with them to stay awhile. Mrs. Katheime Heaton and sons visited the zoo in Atlanta. Georgia with Mr. and Mrs, Sanders and children, Katherine visited with her aunt who was a patient in the hosnital in Atlanta Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Campbell and children and Carolyn Hoaton visited the Camphell's relatives in Mississippi during the holidays. Randy Campbell of the U. S Navy celebrated his 21st birthday July 14. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Campbell. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Medlin and family and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Bigham went to the Smokev Mountains on the 4th. Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Winters and familv from Anno polis, Indiana visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kates during the week of the 4th. Rudy Cooper celebrated a birthday July 8th. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lell and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Lell, Jr. and Linder Lawton were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Cooper and family during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. David Moore and Mrs. Inez Lotheridge of Ware Shoals visited the Church of God Camp Meeting near Mauldin several davs. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Snel grove and daughters spent vacation week at Hilton Head Island along with Mr. and Mrs. Eland Harris and children of Batesburg. Accompaning them for several days stay were Mr. Don Stewart of Clinton and Mr. Jimmy Austin of Cross Hill. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Waldrop. Tommy and John Alan visited in Griffin. Georgia with Mr. Waldrop's brother during the fourth. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Waldrop. Frank Dambeck and Mr. McCeod carried fifteen Boy Scouts to Charleston. They were entertained by the Scout Troop of Charleston. Buddy and Bernie Blackwelder of Wilmington, Deleware are spending several weeks with their grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Davis. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Arnold of Jacksonville spent several days with Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Lowe. Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Lowe spent several days touring Tennessee and Cumberland Gap. Tennessee. Mr. and Mrs. O. Miss Becky Campbell of Charlotte spent the week with her grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Oxner. Birthdays ? On Friday. June 30th, Miss Jewel Southerland of Cross Anchor became the bride of J. H. Whitmore also of Cross Anchor. The Rev. M. B. Lee. Pastor of the Dials Methodist Church, performed the rites using the double ring ceremony. The wedding was solemnized before the close friends and relatives of the bride and groom. The couple went for a short honeymoon to the mountains of North Carolina. At present they are making their home with the groom's parents. Mr. and 7 New Plant Nurse at Lydia Imr M Jjk B| lbl-4, "v " Miss Peggy Dunaway, R. N. replaced Mrs. Johnnie Haskins, R. N. as Lvdia Plant Nurse on August 1st. Mrs. Haskins is returning to general staff nursing. Miss Dunaway is a native of Clinton. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Dunaway, 207 Bailey Street. Clinton. Mr. Dunaway. a card grinder, has been continuously employed at Clinton for 30 years. Miss Dunawav graduated from Clinton High School in the class of 1956. She entered the Greenville, South Carolina General Hospital School of Nursing in September of the same year. She was graduated and capped after passing the State Board Nurses Examination in 1959. Miss Dunawav has been a member of the Greenville General Hospital Staff since graduation from nursing school. J. A. Williams officiating. After a short wedding trip to Chattanooga. Tennessee. the couple is residing at 601 East Florida Street. Mr. McNinch is a former employee of Clinton Mills and Miss Chanev is the daughter of Mr. Presslev Chanev of Weave Room. 2nd shift, and Mrs. Chanev. Mrs. P. B. Whitmore. in Cross Anchor. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Southerland. She is a recent graduate of Woodruff High. Mr. Whitmore received his education in the Cross Anchor ^hools and is employed at Clinton Cotton Mills.
