JULY. 1961 WEAVE No. 1 1ST SHIFT By?Alto Riser Hi, Folks. Here we are again after a very wonderful vacation, hope no one had any accidents or misfortunes and had as good a time as I did. Mr. and Mrs. Marcell Barker and Carrolle visited in Hartsville, Myrtle Beach and Charleston during vacations. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Neal spent their vacation visitine relatives in Greenville and also spent a few days in the mountains. M Sgt. and Mrs. Meadors, Susie and Jimmie of Grand Forks, North Dakota spent the week of the fourth with Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Meadors and Mrs. Meador's sister, Mrs. Alvin Bagwell. Mrs. William Patterson, Teresa and Drew are visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Meadors and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Patterson this week from Portsmouth, Va. The Leo Risers visited Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Overton in Anniston, Ala. during the Fourth. Miss Jo Carol Terry spent a week in Columbia with her grandmother, Mrs. D. G. Jackson. WEAVE No. 1 2ND SHIFT Bv?Beatrice Hawks Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gardner. Mr. and Mrs. Red Hueble spent a few days in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee last week. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kuykendall and sons spent their vacation in Pineville, North Carolina with Mrs. Kuykendall's mother. Mrs. Baxter Wilson. Mrs. Smart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Alexander. will be leaving the 20th of July to join her husband in Puerto Rico for three years. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Butler and son. Davy, and daughter, Rhonda, went to Grant's Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Butler's mother. Mrs. Katv Butler, and sister. Mrs. Katherine Heaton, and Miss Elizabeth Ann Dawkins went with them. They reported a nice time. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Lawson and family spent a day in the mountains around Asheville. N. C. during their vacation. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Lawson and family and Randv Turner spent a day in the mountains of North Carolina during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Butler will celebrate their 8th anniversary July 26. r Kv ~*vf ~ Those visiting Mrs. Susie Hanks, Beatrice and Ernest Vaughn during the vacation week were Mr. Eddie Vaughn and William Vaughn of Greenwood, Mr. Howard Vaughn of Aiken, S. C. and Mrs. Milton Vaughn of Huntsville, Alabama. Linda Beeks had a birthday July 10th. We wish to say thank you to the officials of Clinton Cotton Mills for the weeks vacation with pay. I'm sure everyone feels better after a week of rest and play, and now we are all looking forward to Christmas, which I'm sure will be here before we are prepared for it. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stroud and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Millard Ginn and children spent the week at the Beach. At the time of this writ .lf, men i? a pa uen i ai lie General Hospital in Greenville where she undervent surgery on July 12. 3 Clinton Girl Wins Winthrop Award Sybil Dianne Windsor of Clinton, has been selected to leceive an honor scholarship to Winthrop College, Rock Hill. The scholarship, valued at $200 was furnished by the Winthrop Alumnae Association. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Windsor, Miss Windsor is a recent graduate of Clinton High School. At Clinton High she was program manager of the Junior Classical League, was a winner on the Latin Forum Roman Quiz kids panel, placed in junior English in the mental contest and was a member of Beta Club and Library Club.
