JUNE. 1961 WEAVING NO. 1 1ST SHIFT By Alta Riser Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Phillips and Miss Lucille Branchel visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Terry and family recently. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kidd and children anH tho T.pn Risers spent a recent Sunday in Columbia. The Sid Risers and Richard Risers of Anderson and the H. E. Englishes of Cross Anchor were recent quests of the Leo Risers. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Queen attended the funeral of H. E. "Bub" Baker of Hendersonville. North Carolina recently. Mrs. May me Robinson from Charlotte. N. C. and Mrs. Jinny Smith of Westminster were quests of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Meadors Sunday. I am sure that everyone is as excited about the fourth of July vacation as I am. Have a very good time no matter where you go or what you do but please remember that everyone else is trying to do the same thing. Look out for yourself and the other vacationers. Drive carefully. WEAVING NO. 1 2ND SHIFT Vivian Kuykendall was called to North Carolina recently due to the illness of her mother. Vivian has returned to work and reports her mother is much better. Friends of Mrs. Thelma Dunawav Willard will be interested to know she and her three sons are making their home at Lvdia while Mr. Willard is serving a year of overseas duty. Mr. and Mrs. T. R. Knox and Mrs. Kate Turner of vy uiicinisioii were receni visitors of Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Black and family. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Creswell and sons visited Mrs. Cres well's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Hooper, in Newberry Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Lawrence and family spent Sunday in the mountains of North Carolina. Mr. and Mrs. Harrv Black and children visited Mr. and Mrs. Major Dean in Anderson. S. C. Barbara and Harriet are spending a two weeks vacation in Anderson and Hartwell. Georgia. Mr. George King motored his dad to Atlanta due to the illness of Mr. King's brother Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Algie Bettis of Woodruff visited Mr. and Mrs. Coley Campbell last week end. Cpl. Elbert Bennett of Baltimore. Maryland will arrive Thursday with his mother. TV * T T T T-% mis. n. ri. Joe and Barbara Spillers celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary June 14. WEAVING NO. 3 & 4 1ST SHIFT By Mildred & Grace It's here! The time of year we always look forward to? Vacation time! Hope each and everyone has a wonderful and safe vacation. I think we can speak for everyone in our department when we say "Thanks" to Management for our vacation with pay. A 1C Harold Meadows is attending school for six weeks in Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Meadows and children are spending these weeks with Harold's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thornton Meadows. Mrs. J. F. Anderson, mother of Missouri Wilkie, is recuperating at home following a second operation in Crawford W. Long Hospital in Atlanta. We send our sincere wishes for her recovery. R. C. Wilkie has accepted a job in Chicago for the summer. Good luck R. C. A 3C Jimmy Smith of Chanute Air Base in Illinois spent a recent week end at home with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Evans Lever and famil visited their daughter and son-in-law, PFC and Mrs. Don Moore, in Favetteville, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Williams visited Jack Williams in Columbia recently. Lt L. E. Wood of New London. Conn, and his two children. Barry and Cheryl, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Williams. They barbecued chicken down at the Lake Cabin on a Sunday, along with Robert Wood and family of Greenwood. Remember Barbara Brewington who married John Jennings in January? The only objection her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Newell Brewington. had to the wedding was that Barbara was so near through school, onlv a few months to go. and they felt that she wouldn't go on. Well, Barbara fooled them, she enrolled in school in Lakeland. Florida, where thev are now living, and has completed her high school education, getting her diploma from Clinton High. Congratulations Barba ra! Mrs. Missouri Wilkie accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Senders to visit Mrs. Sanders' father. Mr. Robert . i ? nmnn, who is a patient at Lynn wood Hospital in Augusta. Friends of Malcom Fowler are sorrv to learn that he is a patient in the hospital at El Paso. Texas. We hope for him a snoodv recoverv. Mr. and Mrs.' Alfred McNinch and Johnnv and Mrs. Fmmn Mavfield visited Mrs. Cade Evans in Piedmont rocentlv. Mrs. Mavfield remained for a longer visit. Everyone brought their dinner and a good time was had by all. (Boy I'll bet there was lots ol fried chicken.) Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Leopard, Sandy, Mike Foster, Kay Hill and Jimmy Kinard attended the all night singing in Spartanburg June 10. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kinard, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Foster and Mr. Herbert Roilins entertained the Inter mediate Bible School Class of Davidson Street Baptist Church with a picnic at the Johnson's Lake, July 12th. Guess what! Your reporter caught the biggest fish and this is not a fish story either. Cecil Wooten and Earl Braswell attended the S. C. Moose Convention in Myrtle Beach, May 28 & 29 where Cecil received his Fellowship Degree. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Walton and children spent Mother's Day week end with his parents, Rev. and Mrs. R. L.
