attended the funeral of her
brother-in-law, Paul Roach,
in Gray Court, S. C.
Fred Eldridge, Billy Leopard
and George King, Jr. don't
ever have any news. They say
they've quit having birthdays
and stay right at home except
to work and back.

went to the hospital in Durham.
N. C. the 20th of April
where she underwent an operation.

Lucille Edmonds. Clinton Mills.
He will celebrate his 15th birthday
May 11.

Hi Folks,
Mr. and Mrs. Elbert McCall
were glad to have their son,
Joe, home from college for the
Easter holidays.
Mrs. Myretth Bryant visited
Disneyland and a number of
other places while in California.
She said she had a
nice time. Donnie, Brenda
and Sharon Bryant visited
their grandmother in Lafayette,
Georgia.
We are sorry to hear that
Mrs. Elsie Bishop's mother is
ill in the Spartanburg General
Hospital. We hope she
gets well soon.
I enjoyed the first Saturday
off, I guess everyone else
did also. I hope no one got
hurt.

Don't you love the spring
of the year? It's my favorite
season! When the trees start
budding and the jonquils,
thrift, violets and other early
blooming flowers start bursting
out with color, it just
makes you glad to be alive!
Glad to be a part of the wonderful
creations of God, our
Creator, and the Creator of
such a beautiful world! And
He loved man enough to set
him over all the wonders and
beauties that are in the world!
Why? Why does man seek to
destroy these beauties and his
fellow-man in the horrors of

a peaceful and better world
to live in? Each of us must
face this truth, "a better
world begins with me". Peace
and love for our fellow-man
must originate in the heart of
the individual. The world is
made up of individuals, then
it will spread to the communities,
towns, and so on. There

for the "Old Timer's Banquet" '
which is always an enjoyable
occasion for all who attend.

Mr. and Mrs. John Jennings
of Lakeland, Florida were
visitors of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Newell Brewington,
recently. It seems that Thelma
and Newell are acquiring
sons pretty rapidly. They had
another daughter to get married
March 21, which is the
second daughter to get married
this year. Betty Jo and
John Edward Wyatt, son of
Mrs. Jimmy Eubanks of Laurens,
were married March 21
in the office of the Probate
Judge in Greenwood. They
went to Lakeland, Florida
with her sister and brotherin-law,
Mr. and Mrs. John
Jennings. We wish them a
long, happy life together.

Charles Huey has been a 1
medical patient at Hays Hos
pital and also Greenville General
Hospital due to injuries
received in an automobile
accident several weeks ago.
We're all thankful that
Charles was hurt no worse
after seeing the car that he
was in and we all hope he'll
soon be "fit as a fiddle" and
able to be back at work.
