JULY. 1960 WEAVING NO. 1 1ST SHIFT By Alta Riser Mr. and Mrs. Bill Terry and daughters, Susan and Jo Carol. visited in Columbia and Myrtle Beach during the vacation week. Jo Carol Terry celebrated a birthday July 18. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Suttles visited in N. C. and Danville, Va. during the holidays. Mrs. Elmer Queen went shopping in Greenville during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Neal spent a few days in the mountains during the 4th. The Leo Risers and grand daughter, Annettee, spent several days of their vacation in Anniston. Alabama. R. E. Riser and J. M. Gambled of Waterloo visited the Leo Risers recently. Kenneth Madden spent the week of the 4th at Myrtle Beach. He said he had a large time and if you don't believe it ask him how his hair got so yellow. Also ask him what his mother had to say. WEAVING NO. 1 2ND SHIFT By Beatrice Hawks Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Alexander visited Mr. Alexander's brother in Greenville Sunday. July 3. Karen Medlock of Liberty. S. C. spent a week recently with her aunt. Mrs. Ralph Alexander. ivir. anci ivirs. Kooert tsutier and family and nephew and niece went to the mountains. Donnic Coker spent two days recently with his uncle, Mr. Bobbv Lusk. in Honea Path. Mr. Clyde Crov and family visited in Gainesville. Georgia. Homer Lawson said he took his family on a picnic to Horseshoe Falls and enjoyed it very much. Randy Turner went with Mr. and Mrs. Richard Turner and family to Daytona Beach. Florida during the week of the 4th. Mr. and Mrs. Burton Phillips are spending a few weeks with Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Bradford in Bee Log. N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Sipes and family visited the Smokev Mountains and Myrtle Beach. Sorrv to report Mrs. Velma Coker is a surgical patient at Laurens Hospital. Richard Press ley, his mother and father visited Richard's sister in Piedmont, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Butler will celebrate a wedding anniversary July 26. Mrs. Elizabeth Bedford, Mrs. Clara Fortner. Beatrice and Susie Hawks spent the week end recently with Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Vaughn in Ila, Georgia and Mr. and Mrs. W. L. L o 1 b e r t in Commerce, Georgia. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cothran and daughter spent a week end recently with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cothran. The Cothran family enjoyed a barbecue while they were here. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cothran attended the Church of God Camp Meeting in Mauldin on Thursday. Glad to report that Mrs. Mollie Wehunt is able to be home now. Hope she will soon be well again. Nell Gardner says she is going to have some store bought teeth before the next news. Hope she won't have too much trouble wearing them. Mrs. J. V. Smitherman and son and Mrs. Burrough of Atlanta. Georgia visited Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cothran and Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Smitherman recently. WEAVING NO. 1 3RD SHIFT Hi Everybody. Sorry we didn't make the Clothmaker last month. Neola became a grandmother for the first time the lfith of June. She forgot to let everyone know about it. "It is a bov". His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Fatten of Joanna. Dot Lawson has been ill several weeks. She underwent surgery last month. Hope vou'll be back soon Dot. Mr. Williams' father is in die Saint Frances Hospital in Greenville where he had an operation. He was doing fine as of today. Sure hope everyone had a wonderful vacation. Just about everyone in No. 1 went somewhere. Ronnie and Billy Glenn went to Daytona Beach for the week. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Motes and Mr. and Mrs. George Motes spent a few days in the mountains. Mr. L. F. Wilson wont to Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dunawav spent the week in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Gholdie Simmons vacationed in Tennessee for a couple of days. Joe McCall and several other bovs had a hall at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Syble McCall and i*irls. Lee. Becky Campbell of Charlotte spent several days with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Oxner. Marv Bauknight and Ruth Oxner visited Rock City and Ruby Falls during the vacation. J. C. Lawson and family vacationed in the mountains. Judy McAlister had a birthday June 29. Mrs. J. W. Walton had a birthday July 9. Blanch Creswell celebrated her (?) birthday July 8. Robert "Bob" White celebrated his 18th birthday June 27. Terry Campbell gave Delora L. a sparkler a few weeks ago. They spent several days at Davtona Beach. Florida ac companied by Terry's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Toby Campbell. Franklin Alexander and Patricia Texanna Snipes of Hickory Tavern were married June 4. They are keeping house on Cordon Street.
