She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Smith, Clinton Mills. Mrs. Joan Page has returned home after an operation at Blalock Clinic. Billy Rav Hyde, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cooper, joined the Navy recently. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper are employed at Clinton Mills. Sammon McCall celebrated his birthday on March 24. I Mr. and Mrs. Dean Willard ' and children, of Union, spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. THE CLOTHMAKER INS HELD The National Piano Guild audition of the pupils of Mrs. E. Land was held March 18 and 19 at the Clinton Mills Community Building by Mrs. F. Woods Beckman, National Piano Guild Judge of Knoxville, Tennessee. Mrs. Beckman was born in Germany and received the degree of Bachelor of Music at Cologne Conservatory, Cologne, Germany. She attended the Royal Academy at London and many workshops in this country, including Guy M a i e r and Frances Clarke. All the pupils under Mrs. Land's supervision were audi tioned and classified as Good. Excellent and Superior with grades ranging from 91 to 96. Recognition for high e s t grades will be given this spring at an annual music recital. Grover Starnes last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W e n dell Starnes and children spem the day last Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Grover Starnes. Tommy Butler, of the U.S. Navy, is home on a 20 day leave. Mrs. Frances Howe is back home after being in California for about seven months with her husband, Donald, who is in the U.S. Navy. He is here until March 22, then he has to report to Philadelphia for three months' schooling. I guess everyone enjoyed the snow and sleet we had. I know I did. There was a iot of snow falling but no one was reported injured, just had lots of fun. Everett Starnes. of Atlanta. Ga., spent the weekend at home with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Grover Starnes.
