Mrs. Holland's mother, Mrs. J. H. Crow, is spending several weeks with her. Mrs. Eloise Cannon and children and Mrs. Sarah Jenkins attended the funeral of Jesse Harmon on Tuesday at the first Baptist Church in Ward, S. C. Melnvaille spent the weekend in Charlotte, N. C., and attended the Atchinson and Wright wedding in Lowery Sunday afternoon. Miss Peggy Mclnvaille, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Mclnvaille. has returned to Lancaster to resume her teaching there for the coming year. Mrs. Truman Owens observed a birthday on September 14. James McLendon, son of Mr. and Mrs. I. C. McLendon, observed his 14th birthday September 16. Miss Linda Patterson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Riii Patterson, has returned home after an operation and hospital stay at Hays Hospital. Douglas DeYoung has received his discharge from the Army and is at home with his mother, Mrs. Sarah Jenkins. Edward Childress observed his 18th birthday on August 29. Furman Childress observed his 14th birthday on August 31. Mrs. Furman Bratcher. her mother, Mrs. Bessie Culbertson, Mrs. Louise Griffin, her sister, and Mrs. Irene Culberson spent a few days in Tampa. Fla., with Harold and Sue Griffin. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Fowler visited Mr. Fowler's sis tor. Mrs. Conic Gosnell, in Spartanburg, S inday. Mrs. Kmma Benjamin, sistor of Mrs. Rosa Fowler, has returned homo after an operation and hospital stay at Greenwood IIospital. Cecil Davenport, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davenport, has returned to Clemson College to continue his schooling. Mrs. Janic Prince observed her birthdav on September 1H. Mrs. Janie Prince and Jessie spent Sunday in Hurricane Community with her sister. Mrs. Emma Benjamin, who has just returned from Greenwood hospital. Mrs. Frances Meeks and children spent a weekend recently in Cross Anchor with her sister and brother, Miss Mary Sue and W. G. Holmes. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie May had as their weekend guests. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Broxton. of Keysville, Ga. Sherry, Steve and Dell Campbell, of Charlotte. N. C., grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Burdette, having spent two weeks recently with them, have returned to their home. Herman Burdette attended the races in Darlington on Monday, Labor Day.
