Mr. and Mrs. Luther Neal and children and Mrs. Nellie H a ni m o 11 d, of Greenville, were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Neal. Donald Powers, who is stationed at Norfolk, Va., spent a two week leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Powers. Mrs. Sadie Quinton has returned home after a visit with her son. Rice and family spent the weekend in Asheville, N. C.. and Barbara came back with them. Mr. and Mrs. Grace Britts, of Greenville, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Croy, spent the weekend recently. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ross and Mrs. Florence Weeks, of Raleigh, N. C., were recent visitors of Colev and Bill Campbell. Mr. and Mrs. S. W. McCollum. of New Jersey, spent a few days recently with Mr. and Mrs. Junior Kirbv. Mrs. Pearl Patterson spent the weekend recently with her daughter, Lucy Rob'nson. jw Patsy Madden, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Madden, Rt. 2, Laurens, celebrated her 17th birthday August 19. Mr. Madden is employed in the Weaving Department, Clinton Mills. Patsy is a rising Junior at Hickory Tavern High School. Mrs. Thelma Willard and ( sons, of Sumter, spent last week visiting Mrs. Loree 1 Lawson and other sisters in , this town. Mrs. Shirley Longshore, of , Newberry, spent two weeks with her parents while he was away with the National Guards. i Mr. Rav Patterson visited , his brother. Birthday Party On July 27. Mrs. Ray Pat- | terson gave a party honoring her two sons, Oniel and Danny. A good many children were present and remembered the boys with a gift. WEAVING NO. 3 & 4 1st Shift By Sam Owens First off. left me say I'm glad to bo back from National Guard encampment. Some say that it was a two week vacation, but let's say it was just a change of scenery. The first week was alright but the second week had to be spent with the snakes as the last week was in the field. Well, news is short this month or at least the traveling but ran out of gas. Beth and Gail Griffin, of Florence. visited relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kinard recently. Jimmy Kinard spent a week at Camp Old Indian THE CLOTHMAKER with Troop 178. This is the second year that Troop 178 was honor troop. Joy Bridwell visited Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wooten and Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Oxner recently. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Gibbs, Mr. and Mrs. Robert O'Sullivan were sightseeing in Blue Ridge mountains recently. Sam Lawson and Jerry Wilkie said that the only news they had was that they were regular guests of the Clinton C a v a 1 i e r baseball club. Mrs. Alice Kuykendall and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kuykendall visited Mrs. Kuykendall's daughter-in-law, Myrtle. at Tryon, N. C., recently. Here is a rapid recovery to Mrs. Dora Leopard, who has been hospitalized lately. Miss Jeanette Kennedy, .laughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kennedy enjoyed a tr p to the lake with members of the Sunday School Class. Mrs. Sallie Bratcher spent two weeks with her granddaughter. Mrs. Sam Owens, while Sam was at camp. The children of Mrs. J. E. Braswell. Sr.. surprised her with a birthday party. Ice :ream and cake was served. Mrs. Bias well was 73 on Julv 16. Mr. and Mrs. "Dub" Birds and daughters, of Indiana. also spent several days with them. Thelma Ann Oakley remained for a longer visit and Mr. and Mrs. Oakley will accompany her home before school starts. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Oakley attended the Oakley reunion at Anderson Recreation Center on August 9th. Mrs. Bud Carr and children, of Aiken, spent Sunday with her mother, Mrs. John Hedspeth.
