As last year, the Companv
is offering all employees the
opportunity to purchase "Holland's
Glorv" flower bulbs
through a group bulk order
purchasing plan.
It is expected this year's
program will be even more
successful than last year's
since there has been an increased
interest in yard fceautification
by the new homeowners
in the communities.
More than 5.000 bulbs were
purchased last year.
Hyacinths, Tulips, Narcissus,
Daffodils and Crocus in
a beautiful array of colors
are available. Bulbs purchased
will arrive in the

"President's Plaque" for the
best safety record during the
second quarter (April. May.
June).
Mr. Vance commended Superintendent
Hugulev on the
Mill's improved housekeeping
and accident record. He
ssid. "We must be constantly
alert for unsafe acts and conditions.
and with everyone in
the mills doing his or her part
I am sure we can eliminate
this accident problem, which
is eomnletolv unneeessarv".
Lydia has maintained the
best over-all safety record
for the year.

South Carolina Department
of Labor Commissioner, William
Fred Ponder, announced
last week that Clinton-Lydia
Mills will receive special certificate
awards from his Department
for conspicuous
achievement in Accident Prevention
during 1958.
Mr. Ponder pointed out that
the Lydia Plan was 82' . below
the State Industry Accident
Frequency record during
1958 and 80'. below its
own 1957 rate. The Clinton
Plant was 64'. below the
state average and 73'. below
its own 1957 record he said.
