WEAVING NO. 1 & 2 1st Shift By Irene Davenport Skcct Bailey observed a birthday June 16 and Melvin Bailey observed his on the 22nd of June. Dianne Davenport observed a birthday on June 28. Donnie Ballew observed a birthday on May 31 and was honored with a birthday dinner at the home of his aunt, Mrs. Annie Lawson. Mr. and Mrs. John Gallman and daughter visited the former's sister in Rock Hill and also visited in Charlotte, N. C. Edward Childress has returned from Deland. Florida. having spent a week with friends there. James McLendon is spending a few weeks with his uncle in Mt. Vernon. Ga. Betty Lou McLendon will observe a birthday on July 5. Jimmy Patterson observed a birthday on June 20. Friends of Lamar Patterson will learn with interest that he was married on June 1 to Miss Carroll Martin. Bobbie Cook, grandson of Mrs. Helen Cook, flew in from Cleveland. Ohio, to spend the summer vacation with them. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davenport and family visited Mr. and Mrs. John Brown in Ware Shoals recently. Dianne Davenport spent the past week with her sister and brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Boyce of Inman. Susie Meeks has been ill with measles. David May is spending this week at Camp Old Indian. Little Darrell Shealev, of Greenville, spent the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Truman Owens. Mr. and Mrs. Edd Burdettc visited Mr. and Mrs. Ira Mauldin in Anderson recently. Janice Davenport is spending a few days this week with Peggy Ann Carnes. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Carnes. Milam recently. Wo are all glad to welcome Mr. Coker back to work after he has been out for several weeks. He underwent an eye operation in Greenville. SPINNING 1st Shift By Mary Ellison Mrs. Florence Ervin, of Clearwater, visited her daughter. Mrs. Ruth Satterfield. and her son-in-law recently. Mrs. Jack Windsor, of Spartanburg. daughter-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Windsor, is much improved after a rc cent operation in a Spartanburg hospital. Mrs. Addie Colman. Mr. and Mrs. Mason Colman attended the funeral of their aunt. Mrs. Corrie Baldwin, in Laurens recently. Recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dean were Mr. and Mrs. Furman Crowder. of Laurens, and Mr. and Mrs. Charlev Force and Mr. and Mrs. Ethredge Geicer. of Newberrv. Mr. and Mrs. Jennings Cook were recent visitors of Mrs. Cook's father, J. W. Waldrop, while he was a patient at Greenville General Hospital. Mrs. Ray Ross, of Grav Court, is spending the week with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Charlev Tucker. Mrs. Wilma Colman and children spent a recent Sundav in Laurens with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fuller. Johnson and Buster spent Memorial weekend in the mountains. Mr. Oscar Howell, son of Mr. George Howell, continues seriously ill at his home on Joanna Highway. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ellison spent a recent Sunday in Greenville with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jacks. Once again we want to express our gratitude for the oppor tunity of buying our houses at the most reasonable cost. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Davis visited Mrs. Bessie Brown, of Laurens. Mrs. Neal Ballew. of Greenwood. was a recent guest of Mrs. Jessie Mills and child ren. Jimmy Alexander, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Alexander, Lydia Mills, celebrated his 16th birthday June 6. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Revis and daughter, of Buffalo, visited Mr. and Mrs. B. C. Revis and family recently. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Brown and son, Eddie, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Wren and family, Mrs. Emily Riser, Connie Pitts, Linda Nelson and Brenda Terry enjoyed a picnic dinner at Georgia State Park. On their way home they had supper in Augusta. A good time was enjoyed by all. Friends of Bruce Austin will be glad to know he is at home from the Navy for a few days. Thanks to everyone who contributed in any way following the burning of the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred White. Billy Davis, from the Navv, was a recent guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Davis. Returning from leave he left on the USS Denebola to go to Spain for a month or two. We welcome Mildred Snow to our shift. Miss Carolyn Pace is recuperating at home after being in the hospital several days. Friends and relatives of the boys and girls who graduated this year wish for them much success in their chosen iields of service. Little Ricky Laney suffered lacerations of the head and face when he was hurt by an electrc fan. We wish for him a speedy recovery. We extend sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Lovd Johnson in the death of their baby boy on May 28. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pitts on the birth of a son, Jack Donald, Jr.. May 10. Mrs. Pitts is the former Miss Shirley Bodie. We are glad to have Mrs. Emmie Thomas back again after being out sick several wpoks due tn nn nnpratinn M rs.
