A TRIBUTE TO
MR P. S. BAILEY
On December 17. 1958 our
hearts were sad when we received
the shocking news of
Mr. Silas Bailey's untimely
passing. Words can not express
our appreciation for the
deeds of love and kindness
Mr. Bailey did to make Clinton
and Lydia Mills Communities
and the town of
Clinton a better place in

Mr. Bailev loved and was
loved bv all who know him.
He always had a smile and
cheerful word for everyone
with whom he came in contact.
He shared what he had
with others, always putting
himself last. His influence
will live in the hearts of those
who knew him. Our loss is
Heaven's gain. Mav his life
challenge every citizen to determine
to he a better one.
We extend our deepest svmnathv
to his dear wife and
daughter and prav God's
blessings unon them in their
bereavement.

Mrs. Arzo Ivester, the campfire
leader of Group WaKeZa,
entertained with a Christmas
party December 20th at the
Community Building. Each
member invited a guest and
all sang Christmas Carols and
played records, after which
refreshments of brownies and
ihh cnocoiaie were served
with Mrs. Vernon assisting.
Mrs. John Hedspeth visited
Mr. and Mrs. Bud Carr and
children. Bud is in the hospital
in Aiken. We all wish
for him a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Oakley
spent Christmas with their
son. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Oakley
and children in Indiana.
Mr. and Mrs. Jones Wallenzine
spent a few days during
Christmas in Augusta, Ga.
with Mr. and Mrs. Earl Folks
and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Wilkerson
and celebrated their first
anniversary there. Later in
the week they visited Mr.
and Mrs. Rav Wertz in Spartanburg
and all spent Christmas
Day in Walnut, N. C.
with Mr. and Mrs. Chandler
and visited several places in
the mountains of North Carolina

We were as lost sheep without
a shepherd when we re
ceived the shocking news of
Mr. Bailey's death. We extend
our sympathy to the members
of his family.
Mrs. Lester Ivester visited
relatives in Toccoa, Ga., during
the Christmas holidays.
Mr. Hubert Leopard and Mr.
and Mrs. Clifton Heaton visited
relatives near Saluda recently.
Mis. Edd Young had as her
visitors during Christmas, Mr.
and Mrs. William Chasteen
and children, and Mr. and
Mrs. Perry Chasteen and
children from Anderson.
Mr. Young announces the
birth of another grandchild.
A daughter Susan Annette,
was born Dec. 21 to Mr. and
Mrs. Walter Wilson.
Clarence Lawson visited
Mr. and Mrs. Miles Lawson
recently.
Miles and Giles Lawson
spent a few days with Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Bishop and
sons.
Mrs. Ott Stone's children
from Greenwood and Hodges
visited her Christmas. She
also had Mrs. Bertha McBride
and her daughter from Greenwood
as her guests.
Miss Linda Culbertson of
Key West, Florida is spending
awhile with her mother. Mrs.
Bertha Culbertson.
Miss Linda Jo Cash and
EMI Floyd Arnold Walker
were united in marriage at
the home of the bride's parents
on Saturday December
20th at 5 o'clock. A double
ring ceremony was performed
bv Rev. E. D. Johnson, pastor
of the bride, in the presence
of a number of friends and
relatives.
The bride was lovely in an
oyster white dress with
matching accessories. She is
the only daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Raymond Cash. She attended
Clinton public schools
and at present is employed in
the Spooling Dept. of Clinton
Mills. Mr. Walker is the eldest
son of Mr. and Mrs. James
Alfred Walker of Laurens. He
is a graduate of Clinton High
School and has served with
the U. S. Navy for the past six
years.
