Your reporter a Bobby Braswell is shown with the German Shepherd, "Mickey", he works with to train as a sentry dog for the Air Force. Bobby is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Braswell, Clinton Mills. (Grace) and Cecil kinda' splurged this time and took an extra week which was spent going to, in. and coming from Miami. We really had a wonderful time. Stopped at . . Had a very pleasant visit with friends, Annie Mae and Dee Bagwell, Tom and Bertha Ballew in Miami, (besides visiting monkey jungle) and drove back up through Orange Park to see Moose Haven, home of retired Moose members and companions. We got home just as the regular vacation week began and Cecil went with Earl and J. E. Braswell to Lake Greenwood (Cecil had enough riding) but Grace joined Inabel, Eunice anci Mell for a trip to Cherokee N. C., and enjoyed the drama "Unto these Hills." Then or T h u r s d a v of that weefc Eunice, Mell. Rubv Butler Evelyn Simmons, Sybil John son and Grace visited Mr. ant T: it' - ? jimmy wooien anc daughter in Columbia. But ] guess you'd like to know what some of the rest of oui good people did. Well, follow ing is all the information wc could get. Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Risei and children of Andersoi spent a few days with hi: parents. Mr. and Mrs. Le< Riser, later, the Leo Riser: returned the visit and spen a day and night with them. Mr. and Mrs. Harrv Lan ford and children motored u] to Chimney Rock one da; during vacation. m^M Harry Lanford and Slim Dunawav attended the stock car races in Weaversville, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Suttles visited the gardens in Rome Mountain, N. C. "Sutt" says they're beautiful now. Mrs. Missouri Wilkie and sons spent a recent weekend with her mother, Mrs. J. F. Anderson, in Gainesville, Ga. Judy Lever spent a week at Camp Buck" Horn with the Campfire girls. Jimmy Barker, with Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Cannon and sons, spent vacation week at Lake Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Hughes and son spent several days with relatives in Mountains of N. C. Charles Huov and several friends spent their vacation at Davtona Beach. Fla.. and 1 Myrtle Beach. S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Huev. ' Mr. and Mrs. Earl Braswell ' visited Mr. and Mrs. Wert Jennings and family in Co' lumbia recently. Rev. and Mrs. James L. Slaughter attended the Fire \ Baptized Camp meeting in Toccoa. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Alexander and children visited Jack's sister, Mrs. Helen Cantrell in Jacksonville, Fla., and spent a few days at the beach. Mr. and Mrs. Thornton Meadors visited Rainbow Springs and Silver Springs, Fla., during vacation. Ola says Rainbow Springs is much prettier than Silver Springs. Mrs. Frances Bradberrv and daughters, Joyce and Dianne, and Phil Crapps motored up to Asheville. N. C., for the day during vacation. The J. W. Sorrv to report that Lvdia Bell spent her vacation in the hospital. We hope that she will soon be able to return to work. We extend our deepest sympathy to John Hughes in the death of his brother. B. Joye. Clinton Mills, is serving aboard the Aircraft Carrier, U. S. S. Bon Hamme Richard. His ship is operating with the Pacific Fleet off the coast of California. Jerry is a former employee of the Weaving Department. Clinton KX;II< we share your feeling of loss. Mrs. Ethel Lever was called home July 10. due to the death of her uncle. J. B. Mrs. Dora Leopard visited her sister, Mrs. Vinnie King, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cagle, in Greenville during vacation week. Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Webb and Mrs. Bud Philps visited Mrs. Webb's brother, Paul Jones, in Charlotte. Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Kuvkendall and children of Greensboro spent a few days with his mother. Mrs. Alice Kuykendall. Patrolman and Mrs. Charles Oxner spent the week before vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Oxner. And the R. C. Oxner's daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Campbell and Becky, of Charlotte. spent a few days vacation week with them. WEAVING NO. 2 2nd Shift By Inez Blackwell It seems the folks in No. 2 Weave Room. 2nd Shift, rested more than traveled vacation week, but we all enjoyed the week off. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Barker spent a day at Lake Greenwood vacation week. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Beckham visited in Newberry recently. Mrs. Lizzie Floyd of Anderson has been visiting her daughter. Mrs. Mattie Heaton. Mrs. Ruth Thornton visited her father in Greenwood Hospital. where he was a patient recently. We hope him a speedy recovery, Kuth. Glad to have Eva Pullv back to work after a seige of sickness. Sure did miss you. Eva. Dorothy Brewington celebrated her 7th birthday July 8. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Newell Brewington. Clinton Mills. Jimmy Barker and Mike Cannon spent their vacation at Lake Greenwood. Donald McGinnis spent a few days at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Rosco McGinnis and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Harris of Fountain Inn visited in Cherokee. N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Truman Leopard and son. and Frances 3 Reece visited Cherokee, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Lee and children were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Reece in Washington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. Marcel Barker and son spent vacation week at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Lawson have a new grandson. Congratulations, Dave and Effie. By the way, Dave said he nit the jackpot vacation week, six new puppies, a grandson and lost all his teeth. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Madden. He is leaving for overseas the 25th of August. He is aboard the U. S. S. W. C. Lowe (DD763). Mrs. Dora Vaughn and Kenneth visited Cherokee and the Smokies, vacation week. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Spurlock and son spent a Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Marcell Barker recently. WEAVING NO. 2 3rd Shift By Mary Miles We hope everyone had a nice vacation and now back to work at reporting all the news. Shirley Stroud and Mildred Wilson enjoyed a few days at Myrtle Beach. S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith visited relatives in Charlotte. N. C.. and Rock Hill, S. C., recently. Mr. and Mrs. Ches King, Bo King and wife visited at Folly Beach during vacation. Mrs. Vivian Kuykendall and children visited her mother in Pineville. N. C., recently. Mr. and Mrs. Clark Meadows announce the birth of a little girl, Janet Denise. June 21st at Blalock Clinic. Janet weighed 7 lbs. 8 oz. Fine girl, isn't she? Congratulations to them. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Creswell.
