MARCH, 1958 SPINNING 1ST SHIFT By Mary Ellison Welcome Gladys Campbell to the first shift. Mr. & Mrs. Ward Knight and family visited Mr. & Mrs. Bill Bailey from Ohio. Mr. & Mrs. Bill Nelson vis ited their son, Leland, who remains a patient at Shriners Hospital in Greenville. The J. B. O'Shields visited Mr. J. B. Wasson in Fountain Inn a recent Sunday. Mr. & Mrs. Tommy Bryant and daughter, Louise, visited Mr. & Mrs. Bill Nelson. We welcome Mrs. Ola Dalton and Mrs. Lillie Bell Miller back after being out on leave. Mr. & Mrs. G. M. Lowery and children of North Augusta, S. C. and Mr. & Mrs. Earl Gulledge of Clearwater spent a recent week end with Mr. & Mrs. John Davis. We welcome back to this department Marv Patterson, who has had a leave of absence for a few months. Also four trainees; Joyce Campbell. Edna E. Laney and Betty Lou Parrish and Ruby Threatt. We hope you will like your work girls, and also the ones you work with and work for. Luther Cothian has been out several days on account of sickness. Gene Cook has returned to work after an illness of several davs. Mamie Cothran had the misfortune to fall a few weeks ago and has not been able to return to work yet. We hope she is able to return soon. Horace Smith has been sick a few days and we hope he is better soon. Louise Lamb, of the spooling department, was out several days on account of sickness. Pat Nelson of the same department was sick for a week, but is able to work now. Bullard of Austell, Ga. is visiting his stepson, Mr. & Mrs. Robert R. Wyatt. We are sorry to hear of the death of Mr. Carl Crain who was an uncle of Mrs. Annie Bell Johnson. Mrs. Barbara White and little son, Warren, have gone to San Antonio, Texas to be with her husband who is stationed there with the Air Force. Mrs. White is the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. R. E. Whitmire. Mr. Robert R. Wvatt, husband of Mrs. Martha Wvatt, was called to Piedmont. Alabama this week due to the illness of his uncle. Mr. Charlie Beal. Roberts and sons visited Mrs. Robert's father and sister in Spartanburg Sunday. Roger Nelson, son of Mr. & Mrs. Joe Nelson, celebrated his twelfth birthday March 12. Sgt. Frank Ross and family of Phenix, Alabama visited his sister. Mrs. Osborne, over the week end. Harold Sanders and Jim Gaines are attending a night class of Card Grinding at Clinton High School. Hiott spent the week end with his mother in Anderson recently. Mr. & Mrs. Bennrom Small of Ware Shoals were guests of Mr. & Mrs. Furman Bagwell last week end. Mr. & Mrs. Harmon Whitaker and family of Columbia visited her parents, Mr. & Mrs. James H. Price, of Joanna recently. Jamos Hampton Price, son of Sgt. and Mrs. Wade Price, was born in Druax, France. Mrs. Rice is a niece of W. N. Nafcors, Lydia Mills. I Happy birthday to little Jackie Pitts on her third birthday February 16. She is the granddaughter of Mr. & Mrs. J. D. Hiott. Sorry to hear of the death of Mr. John Broome's uncle, Mr. Carl Crain, of Cowpens, S. C. on February 24. Also sorry to hear ot the death of Mr. T. Luther Johnson of Joanna on February 15. Decorations and refreshments carried out the valentine motif, with dancing later in the evening enjoyed by the guests. Mr. & Mrs. W. R. Snelgrove were host and hostess for the evening.
