1st Shift

Hi Folks, here we are back
steaming and fuming cause
the weather's so dreadful.
Hasn't it been a scorcher
lately? 1 don't know about
all you others, but it's a relief
to me being at work. It seems
much cooler in the mill than
it is outside.
Our column seems a little
small this month, but here
goes what we have.
James McLendon spent a
week recently in Mt. Vernon,
Ga? with his uncle. Durant
Spoon.
Barbara Jo Todd and Dale
Edwards r e c e n 11 y visited
Mrs. Alma Todd. Both are
student nurses at Greenville
General Hospital.
Mrs. Sudie Grant continues
ill at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Agnes Williams.
Jean McLendon has returned
home after being a
patient at a local hospital
several days this week.
Blake Saxon of Saluda was
a recent visitor of the Joe
Todds.
Mr. and Mrs. Milt Milam
visited the latter's nephew.
William Grant, at Moore
General Veterans Hospital
near bwannanoa, in. u., recently.
Rev. J. E. Coker wishes to
announce there will be an
all-dav sinking and Homecoming
at the Cross Hill
Church of God on Sept. 29th.

and now some good news.
Your reporter got news this
week he had a grand nephew
born in Paris, France. The
mother is formerly Miss Shirlev
Pearson of Laurens, S. C.,
and a niece of this reporter.

Jessie Hairston had to go
