JUNE. 1957 WEAVING NO. 1 3rd Shift By Joe Spillers Barbara and Joe Spillers win celebrate a wedding anniversary June 14th. Mike Lawson, son of Frank and Dot Lawson, was 5 years old June 5th. Joe McCall will have a birthday June 21. He will be 15 years old. He is the son of Mrs. Neola McCall. Hope everyone has a nice one and do remember wherever you go drive safely and everyone will have a nicer time. Oscar Kinard and all the boys that attended the Loom Fixers Class wishes to take this opportunity to "Thank" the management for the wonderful supper that was given them on a recent Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. Thornton ivieadors and Mrs. Ted Ward were recent shoppers in Greenville. Mrs. Missouri Wilkie attended the funeral of her uncle, Mr. John Sullens, in Gainsville, Ga., recently and remained for a visit with her mother, Mrs. J. F. Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Corley and Mrs. Carley's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Robertson of Ninety Six, spent a weekend in Montgomery, Ala., with the C a r 1 e v s' daughter and son-in-law. Our sincere sympathy went out to Grady and his family in the loss of his brother, Mr. Ralph Turner, who was drowned May 18 while on a fishing trip. Happy to report that Joe Strickland, brother of Mrs. Ola Meadors, is home after being a patient at Blalock's Clinic for 3 months. Sure hope you're going to enjoy better health, Joe. ''Pop" Barker caught two big turtles recently, one weighed I8V2 lbs., the other weighed 13 lbs. "Pop" said he would have caught more, but it wasn't a good day for turtles. He ought to let us all know when he makes a stew cause I believe they'd make enough to feed us all. Mrs. Edivin Hardman from Leedsville, Louisiana, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Alice Kuykendall. While here she was taken ill and spent a week in Hays Hospital. Her husband. Tech. Sgt. Hardman, was called home because of her illness. But we're giad to report that she has left the hospital and is recuperating at her mother's home. Mrs. Earl Braswcll and Mrs. Cecil Wooten visited Mrs. Braswell's daughter, Mrs. Wert Jennings and Mrs. Wooten's daughter-in-law, Mrs. Jimmy Wooten. in Columbia recently. Mrs. Jimmy Wooten had just returned home after being a patient in the hospital at Fort Jackson. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hughes and children and Miss Loraine Patterson attended the Hughes reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Hughes in Whitney. Mr. and Mrs. Billy Lawson and children of Waco, Texas, aave recently spent three veeks with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Lawson. During their stay they cisited Mr. Dave Lawson's father in Va., and toured the Smoky Mountains and visited Mrs. Dave Lawson's father in Spartanburg, who remains ill at his home. They returned home to Waco recently and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Lawson say it is very lonely at their home n o w. Hope they'll :ome again soon. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Thornton and children visited Mr. and Mrs. James Thornton in Anderson recently. Captain and Mrs. J. R. Phillips and children of Alabama visited the latter's sister, Mrs. Ruth Bragg and Mr. Bragg, of Laurens, recently. Earl Wardell of Norfolk. Va.. visited his sister, Mrs. Ruth Bragg. Mr. Turner drowned while fishing in the Catawba River May 18th. Mr. Grady Turner and family wishes to express their appreciation for the beautiful flowers sent to Piedmont. We are glad to have our overseer, Mr. J. R. Reynolds, back after his recent visit to the hospital. Our reporter. C. E. Leopard. was in the hospital recently. We are glad to have him back. Mr. and Mrs. Grady Turner were invited to spend the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Turner and family of Piedmont. S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Peace enjoyed a birthday dinner last Sunday at the home of his father and mother at Woodruff, S. C. It was his mother's 56th birthday. There were about 75 present. Helen Glenn was sick recently. Glad she is better. We would like to welcome Vivian Holcome, Bobby Ginn, Mike Starnes, Noleeka Foster, Mary Motte and Cecil Davenport. newcomers, to our department.
