MAY, 19S7 WEAVING NO. 1 1st Shift By Sudie Putnam Whew! It's really hot weather and everyone's talking about going fishing. So if you're not a fisherman you're not in on the latest talk. Rev. and Mrs. Ken Joner and family and Mr. and Mrs. Perry Guest of Anderson visited Mayor and Mrs. Joe Terry recently. Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Davis of Danville, Va., and Miss Edith Youngs of Riedville, N. C., spent a weekend with Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Suttles. Mr. James S. Price visited relatives in Columbus. Ga., the past weekend. Yours truly and her family spent a weekend in Edgefield with Mr. and Mrs. Henry Smith. Mr. J. R. Cole and friends attending the boxing match at Municipal Auditorium in Spartanburg Thursday night. May 2, in which Jack Alexander was a participant. Mr. and Mrs. James Harris and family toured the Smoky Mountains, returning home bv way of Caesar's Head Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Suttles scent a weekend at Marion, N. C. Mrs. Robert Neal and Steve visited Mrs. Neal's father, Mr. J. J. L. Smith, in Salem, S. C.. Sunday. No one seems to be getting older in No. 1, but Nellie Price had a birthday May 10. WEAVING NO. 1 2nd Shift By Emily McNinch Coley and Bill Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. Grange Campbell spent the weekend recently at Lake Murray. Dick and Bernice Harrill spent a weekend in Cowpens visiting the Harold Perrys. Miss Christine Gray visited in Abbeville. We are glad to report that Mrs. Harold Perry, daughter of the Dick Harrills is doing just fine after her recent illness. Emily McNinch had a birthday April 15th. WEAVING NO. 1 3rd Shift By Joe Spillers Dot and Frank Lawson celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary in April, they also traded cars, a new 1957 Mercury. Fred and Sara Shelton and baby visited in Charlotte over the last weekend in April with the H. L. Baker family. They also traded cars, a 1956 Pontiac. Mrs. Minnie McCall. mother of Elbert McCall. is back in the General Hospital in Greenville. Joe Spillers celebrated a birthday May 1st. W*W'^1 Clayton, son of Mrs. Lucille Edmonds, Clinton Spinning, celebrated his 11th birthday May 11. WEAVING NO. 2 1st Shift By Mildred Klnard and Grace Wooten 11 i FV-kllrc How is everyone liking these Saturdays off? Sam Owens has been walking around with his head in the air! Mr. Allman used to take meals with them while he was in service. Mr. and Mrs. Dock Dover and Mickey, Mrs. Kate Evans. Mr. arid Mrs. J. O. Womble and Mr. and Mrs. James Amnions and daughter attended the funeral of Mrs. Ellen Ware in Anderson recently. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Barker and family and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Sanders visited at Chimney Rock and Lake Lure on Easter Sunday. The fol THE CLOTHMAKER lowing Sunday they visited Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Sanders in Spartanburg. Friends of Mrs. Ina Bell Hooper will be interested to know that she is scheduled to enter Greenville General Hospital May 25, and will undergo surgery May 27. We're all hoping and praying that it will be successful and that this will be the last operation necessary for a complete recovery. The doctors and Ina Bell herself have given us every reason to believe it will be. Just the same, she asks for your prayers. Happy to have Mr. Reynolds back with us after unoergoing surgery at Hays Hospital, and also Mrs. Fran ces Bradberry, who also has been a surgical patient at Hays. Glad to report that Mrs. Tolan Snelgrove, daughter of Mrs. Missouri Wilkie, is recuperating nicely at home after undergoing serious surgery at Greenville General Hospital. James Brcwington has returned to his home after being a patient at Laurens Hospital. John Henry Brewington is at home after a stay in Greenwood Hospital, but has to report back later. We're hoping they will both soon enjoy good health. Both are brothers of Newell Brewington. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Bovce ana cnnaren ol inman were recent visitors of Mr. Boyce's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Davenport. Nancy Ann is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Leopard. Clinton Spooling. She celebrated her birthday April 25. Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Lee of Myrtle Beach were recent weekend guests of Mrs. Lee's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cannon. B M2 Paul C. Arnold is spending a JO day leave with ins parents. Air. and Airs. J. L. Arnold. Paul will report to Charleston May 27th for 2 years' Shore Patrol. Mr. and Mrs. Derrill Bozard visited Mrs. Bozard's father, Mr. G. H. Canfield, and family in Carlisle recently. Mr. and Mrs. James A. Arnold and children of Hemingway were recent guests of relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kinard, Mrs. Alice Kinard and Mrs. Boyd Holtzclaw were visitors of relatives in Newberry recently.
