C., visited their sister, Mrs. Clyde Putnam and family Christmas. Little Joe Carol Terry spent several days in wuiiston, S. C., with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Neal spent Christmas Day with relatives in Greenville. S. C. Donald Powers now stationed near Jacksonville, Fla., spent the Christmas holidays with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Sadie Powers. Mr and Mrs. Bill Terrv and children visited Mrs. Terry's mother, Mrs. D. G. Jackson in Columbia. She was 8 years old. Edna and Bill Terry celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary December 24. Steve Neal had a birthday December 20. Also Bessie Queen Jan. 6. WEAVE NO. 1 3RD SHIFT By Joe Spillers Gholdie Simmons had a birthday the 27th of December. It was his 25th. Frank Lawson will celebrate a birthday the 28th day of January. His son. Stanley Lawson. will have a birthday the .31st of January. Rita Shelton was 15 years old the 24th day of December. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shelton. Sara Shelton celebrated a birthday the 14th of January. Charles Calvert was 6 years old the 4th day of January. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs J. W. Calvert. Anniversaries Mr. and Mis. Clarence Mot les will celebrate their 20th anniversary the 29th of January. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shelton celebrated their lfith anniversary the 24th of December. Dot and Frank Lawson and Sara and Fred Shelton spent several days in Charleston with the J. B. Carsons, formerly of Clinton. They had a wonderful time. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Spillers and son, Joev, vacationed in the mountains a few days during Christmas holidays. Mrs. Neola McCall and her family visited her mother-inlaw one day in Honea Path during Christmas. Sam Lawson was really mad at Santa Claus because he did not leave him any teeth Christmas. WEAVE NO. 2 1ST SHIFT By Mildred Kinard and \WT a. vjrace wooien Hi Everybody, We made it! Through Christmas I mean. No broken bones or accidents, not even a burned ham! Just hope everyone had as nice a Christmas as I did. and sincerely hope the new year we've just entered will be a wonderful year for each of you. May you leave all heartaches and disappointments along with the old year, anil have a year that is grand in every way. with courage to face up to any problem which might arise (and everyone has problems). There was much visitinu among our good folks this holiday season, and happiness for our bovs in service who made it home for Christmas. S Sgt. Larry Fowler, who has spent 2^ years in Japan, got home for Christmas, even though his dad. J. W. Fowler, had to meet him in Atlanta (which we know he was glad to do). Larrv is spending a 30 day leave at home, and A2 C Malcolm Fowler, of Wilmington. Del., made it home for a ten day leave. R. C. Wilkie DK 2, of Bainbridge. Md., spent the Christmas holidays with his mother. Mrs. Missouri Wilkie. P. F. C. Raymond Lawrence spent the holidays with his narents. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Lawrence. Seaman John Lee Simmons. stationed in Oakland. Calif., spent the holidays with his mother, Mrs. Estelle Roland. John Lee will go back to Japan soon. Mrs. Roland had her Christmas dinner on the 2Jrd with Mr. and Mrs. Gholdie Simmons and children, Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Stroud and Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Mason as guests. A A Paul Hardman spent a ten day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fern Ilardman. Paul reported back to a Naval Air Station in San Francisco. Calif. A1 C and Mrs. Sam Bar THE CLOTHMAKER ker spent Christmas with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Barker. Sam had a 15 day leave after which he reported to Turner Air Force Base in Albany, Ga. Mr. ana Mrs. tsootsie Aiiman and sons spent Christmas day with the former's father, Mr. D. U. Allman, in Union. Mrs. Dora Leopard spent Christmas day with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Holliday in Laurens. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wood and granddaughter of Belton and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Waters of Simpsonville visited Mrs. Dora Leopard during the holidays. Rev. and Mrs. Dial Jacks and sons of Maddison. and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Jacks of Inman spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jacks. Mrs. A. H. Hughes of Spartanburg and Mr. and Mrs. Rav Hughes and children of Columbia spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hughes. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Campbell and daughters of Atlanta. Mrs. Minnie Duncan of Greenville and Mrs. Lola Moore of Charlotte visited Mrs. Alice Kuvkendall recently. Mrs. Ora Wood had supper at the home of J. D. Williams on Christmas Eve. Mr. William's son. Jack, who is a patient in a Columbia Hospital, was home for the holidays, also Mr. William's sisters. mis. Annette i nomas and Miss Margaret Williams of Birmingham. Ala., and Mrs. Florence Moore of Augusta. Ga.. on Friday. Mrs. Wood had them all at her home for a fish supper. Christmas day, Mrs. Ira Wood was dinner guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Corbin in Greenwood. The Corbins are the parents of Mrs. Robert Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Don Hardin of Clemson and Johnny Hutto of Livingston, Joyce and Dianne Bradberry, all grand children of Mr. Freeman Lanford, spent the day recently with Mr. and Mrs. Lanford. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cannon spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Lee in Myrtle Reach. Mrs. Lee is improving after being a patient in Conway Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Alcxander and children spent the holidays with relatives in Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Turner spent the holiday week end with Mr. and Mrs. Grady Turner. Mr. and Mrs. George Turner spent the past week end with the Grady Turners. Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Carley and Mrs. Franklin Howell spent the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Robertson in Ninety Six. David Lee Turner spent several days with Jimmy Barker recently. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kuvkendall and children spent the holidays with Mrs. Rosa Wilson in Fort Mills. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Owens celebrated their third wedding anniversary Dec. 25. Mr. and Mrs. Bootsie Allman attended the funeral of S Sgt. J. B. Fortner in Anderson Dec. 18. S Sgt. Fortner was originally from Anderson but had been station eci in Arizona lor tne past three years. He was the brother-in-law of B o o t s i e. and the family have our sincere sympathy. Little Melane and Delmar Snelgrove. grandchildren of Mrs. Missouri Wilkie. have measles. WEAVE NO. 3 3RD SHIFT By C. E. Leopard We all made it back to work after the Christmas holidays, but we sure were sick. We sure enjoyed it. Now we are looking forward to the 4th of July. At midnight Monday night we started a new year. Let's all work hard for a safe year so it will be more happy. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Finney visited in Asheville. N. C., recently. Mr. and Mrs. Marcell Barker and son spent the Christmas holidays in Charleston with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Spurlock. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Snelgrove and family visited Mr. Sneigrove's father during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. \V. R. Snelgrove visited W. R. Strange in Greenwood. Ted Mahaffev, son of Mr and Mrs. R. V. Mahaffev enjoyed the Christmas holidays 3 at home in Laurens. He is stationed in Washington, D. c. Sgt. Thomas A. Lewis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry L. Lewis, Clinton Mills, is now serving in the Army and is stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas. Prior to entering the Army he was employed in the Weaving Dept., Clinton Mills. He will be discharged in February. He will have completed three years of service. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. O'Sullivan of Spartanburg visited Mr. and Mrs. Robert O'Sullivan. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Mason and children of Seneca visited Mr. and Mrs. James Wells during the Christmas holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Gregory announce the birth of a son December 26 at Hays Hospital.
