October IS. 19S6 WEAVING NO. 1 3RD SHIFT By Dorothy Lawson Wc want to welcome Lois Boyette on the third shift. She got a transfer from the first shift. We want to welcome W. H. Gooch on the third shift. He transferred from the second shift. Alvin Hampton left us. He went to work with the South Carolina Highway Patrol Force. Maybe he will keep a close watch on us while we are on the highway. Dot Lawson got a transfer from the third shift to the first shift. (Lucky girl). We want to welcome Eugene Whiteford on the third shift. Joe Spillers enjoyed the big race at Darlington on Labor Day with his brother. First Lt. Jack C. Williams visited Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wood and Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Corbin in Greenwood. Mrs. Ted Ward and children, Mrs. William Cannon, Mrs. Thornton Meadors and Mrs. C. B. Smith motored to Paris Mountain State Park on a recent Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bobbv Wooten and Debbie visited Mr. and Mrs. O. B. Godfrey in Ninety-Six. Mrs. Bobby Wootcn entertained with a birthday party for her little daughter, Debbie, who was 3 yrs. old Sept. 18. There were about 25 little guests present, each one remembered Debbie with a lovely gift. After games, the hostess served ice cream and cake, and each child received small baskets nf ranHu n whistle. Out of town guests were Mrs. O. B. Godfrey and son, Jack, of Ninety-Six. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Hughes visited Mrs. A. H. Hughes in Spartanburg. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Kinard and Jimmy visited Mr. and Mrs. Joe Griffin and family in Florence recently. Charles Huey attended the P. C.-Clemson football game in Clemson. He has also been a frequent visitor in Spartanburg to see student nurse Roberta Watts. Mr. and Mrs. Larry Cogsdale and Buck Richards of Charlotte spent a recent weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Will Lvda. we welcome James Slaughter as a newcomer to our department. Leopard Mr. and Mrs. Billy Snelgrove spent the weekend with Mr. Snelgrove's parents in Saluda County. Mr. Snelgrove is back at home after a stay in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Mr. and Mrs. Robert O'Sullivan and son visited Mrs. Marie O'Sullivan in Spartanburg. Birthdays Larry Masters says he will be 39 years old Oct. 6, but he forgot the ten years he went barefooted. Mrs. Bertha Williams and Mr. Hoyt Powell were Sunday guest of Louie Black and family. THE CLOTHMAKE Henry Fallow attended the Clemson-P. C. football game. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Patterson of Woodruff visited Mr. and Mrs. Kay Patterson of 201 Forest St. A nice Sunday dinner was enjoyed by all Mrs. Eva Pulley celebrated a birthday Oct. 3. She didn't say which one! Mr. and Mrs. Coley Campbell visited friends in Moncks Corner, S. C. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. McGinnis spent last weekend at Mount Mitchel, N. C. Mrs. W. L. McGinnis had a birthday Sept. 15. We are sorry to see Mrs. Margaret Cannady leave us. Also, we are sorry to see Ruth Bragg leave. We welcome Mr. Alfred Cothran into our department. SPINNING NO. 2 2ND SHIFT By Geraldine Satterfield Mr. and Mrs. Sam Barker and children are expected to arrive home from Wyoming, where he is stationed in the Air Force. Mrs. Barker is the daughter of Mrs. Daisy Fickiin of Mountville, S. C. Mrs. Marion Meade and family visited her daughter at Rock Hill, S. Mrs. Marion Meade visited Paul Foster at Spartanburg General Hospital last Sunday. Mrs. Anne Burton and family visited Mr. and Mrs. Carl Lewis at Calhoun Falls, S. C., last Sunday. Robert Humphries, son of Mr. and Mrs. Denton Hum phries, is in the Veterans Hospital at Columbia, S. C. We wish Mr. Paul Foster a speedy recovery after undergoing an operation at Spartanburg General Hospital. We sure are glad to see Forest Samples back at work after a period of illness. We all wish Alonzo Hanlev a speedy recovery. James Lanev. araduale of Iho Class of '56 from Clinton High School, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Laney, Spinning -2 Clinton Mills. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Holbert and family and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hayes and daughter visited all the sights of the Great Smokey Mountains and Indian Reservation Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Reynolds of Columbia visited Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Owings of Laurens recently. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Clem of Anderson also visited Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Owings. Mrs. Agnes Walker spent Wednesday with her sister, Mrs. Johnnie Owings. Mrs. Owings' niece, Peggie Holland, will have a birthday Oct. 13. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Deadwyler celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary Oct. 1. Friends of little David Gregory will be sorry to know he is spending some time in the Shriners Hospital in Greenville. We hope he will soon be well.
