AUGUST 15, 1956 that Tom O'Shields had thrown back in the lake. Mr. and Mrs. Ellison Koberts visited Dr. J. W. Kitchen in Liberty recently. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Wingate were recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Campbell and family. Billy Snelgrove and family visited his father, Mr. J. B. Snelgrove, in Saluda. Sandra Leopard celebrated her 10th birthday August 17th. Bill Masters is certainly fond of little girls. His oldest girl friend is only about eleven. He likes to baby sit. We know that everyone will certainly miss Gene Carter, our warp hand who is leaving in a week or so. He has done a lot to liven up the place. Good luck, Gene. SPOOLING. FIRST By Kate Riddle Well, we are back at work after our vacation. Everyone had a very nice rest. Among those visiting out of town were: Ethel McGinnis visited relatives in Gadsden, Ala., and Augusta, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Arzo Ivestcr iourea inrough the mountains of N. C. and Tennessee. Jackie and Robert Bigham and son Eddy went to the mountains. Mrs. John Hedspeth was visiting in Aiken with Mr. and Mrs. Bud Carr and her son, Maxey Joe, who is in the Air Force, came in unexpected and spent his furlough with her and just after he went back to his post her other son. Leon, came in after 23 months overseas. He is in the Air Force. So we know she had a nice vacation. Mr. and Mrs.Bud Carr spent the weekend with Mr. John Hedspeth. Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Johnson and family visited Mr. and Mrs. J. A. DeLoach in Saluda. Y., have returned to their home after a week's stay here with Mrs. Lila C. Stewart and family. The Carl Heatons, the L. T. Taylors, and Mrs. Beulah Ivester were Sunday dinner guests of the Kelly Kings. The dinner was given in honor of Mrs. Taylor, who was celebrating a birthday. Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Womble and Thomas visited Mrs. Vance Moore, who is a patient at the Presbyterian Hospital, Charlotte, N. C. Miss Marion Mitchell vacationed with Pa Reynolds, Mrs. Reynolds and Shirley in Clearwater, Fla. The Jimmy Braswells spent their vacation at Myrtle Beach. The Argo Ivesters vacationed at Fontana Village, and visited relatives in Georgia. p Mr. Arthur C. Clark, Card Grinder at Clinton Cotton Mills since 1944. retired June 28, 1956. Mr. Clark now lives on his farm in the Long Branch Community. He says he plans to do a little vegetable gardening and take it easy. THE CLOTHMAKI The Pete Evans vacationed in Texas. The Rufus Handbacks visited in the mountains; also the Arthur Davis and the James Craines vacationed in the mountains of North Carolina. "Turp" Lowe and Alice vacationed in Jacksonville. Tommy Prather and Martha and little Tommy vacationed at Myrtle Beach. J. H. Whitmore spent his vacation and another week at Camp Stuart with the Woodruff National Guard training. James and Alice Dunaway spent the week at their cabin on the lake. The Marvin Yarboroughs motored down to Kershaw. The Lee Roy Dunaways spent several days at Myrtle Beach. The Colie Turners and Marian vacationed in Rock City, Tennessee. The Lewis Yarboroughs spent one day at Paris Mountain State Park. Mr. and Mrs. Evans Wallen visited Chimney Rock. Mr. and Mrs. James Traynham spent the week at their cottage at Lake Greenwood. Mrs. Fannie Parrish enjoyed visiting relatives in Columbia, Laurens, and Cross Hill. A.Wrights and Jackie, Mrs. Jack Barrett and daughters, Mrs. James Couch and Mrs. Cora Dennis, all of Laurens, attended the Baker-Carpenter reunion in Peachland. N. C., July 22. Mrs. O. L. Carpenter is Mrs. Rubin Wrights' mother. Miss Marie Patterson and Miss Sue Harmon of Newberry visited the W. C. Wallenzines recently. Mr. and Mrs. Brevard Patterson and Loraine spent Thursday in Greenville recently. Mr. and Irs. John Ivey, the J. B. Sparks of Greenwood visited the Brevard Pattersons during the Fourth. Lydia Mills, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Corley, of Lydia Mills, will receive his Bronze Palm at the August Court of Honor to be held at Presbyterian College. His mother is shown discussing the event. Ronald entered scouting in 1951 and has progressed very rapidly. He received his Eagle badge in August of 1955. During his scouting years he has attended Camp Old Indian every year, made two trips to Donaldson Air Force Base and one trip to Citizen Non Conference at Clemson College. Charles Lindsey, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Lindsey, celebrated his 15th birthday July 30th. NO. 2 SPINNING. THIRD By Allen Kay Harsey Juslin Paris was two years old July 20. SECOND By Lucille Edmonds Miss Ruth Rhodes became the bride of Jimmie Crane on June 30. We wish them much happiness. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Owings were proud to have Mrs. Agnes Walker as their dinner guest on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Martin visited Mrs. Martin's father in Blacksburg recently. Mrs. Fay Proctor with her daughter, Dianne, visited friends and relatives in Greenwood recently. Mrs. Nellie Hughes and children visited her mother and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Welchel in Joanna. Friends will be interested to know Mr. Hughes' mother has returned from the hospital and we wish her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Turner from Miami, Fla.. visited Mr. and Mrs. Pierce Waddell of Cross Anchor over the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Edmonds had as their weekend guests Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Crawley.
