Savings Plan
Provided For
Next Christmas
Immediately after the
Christmas holiday, employees
of both Clinton and Lydia
Cotton Mills will have an op
portunity to participate in a
Christmas Savings Club.
Under the provisions of the
1956 Christmas Savings Club,
employees may designate
payroll deductions which will
be made each week for 50
weeks, and the total will then
be repaid to the employees
shortly before Christmas next
year.
Employees may select any
amount which they wish
placed in the savings fund.
For example, if one dollar a
week is deducted, the em
ployee will have $50 in his
or her fund before Christmas
of next year.
Christmas saving funds
have proved highly successful
across the country and
the management feels that
the payroll deduction plan
for Christmas savings will
meet with the approval of
Clinton and Lvdia employees.

Big Christmas
Parties Planned
At Both Mills
Clinton and Lydia cotton
Mills will hold two day-long
Christmas parties for employees
and their families
December 21 and 22 which
will be entirely different
from the Christmas plans followed
in past years.
The party will be held at
Clinton in the Academy
Street School cafeteria from
8 A.M. to 6 P.M. Wednesday,
December 21 and at Lydia
on Thursday, December 22,
in the Providence School
cafeteria during the same
hours.
Employees of both mills
will be given written invitations
on cards which MUST
be presented when the employee
and his family go to
the appropriate school.
The cafeterias will be beautifully
decorated by the Community
and Athletic Directors,
assisted by others. Santa
Claus will be present all
day long and refreshments
will be served continuously.
More than 6,000 bags of fruit
and candy will be distributed
to employees and each member
of their family. In the
past, bags were distributed to
the homes. This year, a colorful
bag will be given to
each when leaving the party
at the schools.

parties at each mill will
prove most interesting and
provide a great deal of good
fellowship for all employees
and members of their families.
LYDIA CENTER
IS DECORATED
The Lydia Mills Community
Center has been completely
repainted and decorated
and will be the scene of many
Christmas parties during the
approaching Christmas holiday
season.
The reason so many people
have trouble making both
ends meet is that they try to
take in too much territory.
