The goal of $2.50 per employee
is exactly the same as
for the past two years when
employees proved they were
"A Good Neighbor" and came
through with flying colors in
raising the funds.
Also as in the past two
years, this is the only solicitation
for funds made in the entire
year. For this reason, employees
have welcomed the
opportunity of giving their
charitable donation in one
drive instead of the many
drives, sometimes almost every
week, which used to occur
in the mills.
Deductions Can Be Made
Employees may make a cash
donation to the United Charity
Chest, or they may have
deductions made from their
paychecks over a two weeks
period, making it possible to
contribute more without having
it taken out of one week's
pay. Employees also may
make a cash donation when
solicited, followed by payroll
deductions for one or two

A card will be given to each
employee so he or she may
designate how much to give
and how they wish to pay it.
A receipt will be given for all
contributions. (Incidentally,
contributions to the United

from your income tax returns
next Spring.)
Supported Organizations
Following are the agencies
which your contributions will
support for the next twelve
months:
Salvation Army. Crippled
Children. Red Cross. Cancer

Hoy Scouts and Cub Scouts

Campfire, Blue Birds and Horizon

A small amount also goes to
administrative expenses of the
Greater Clinton Community
Chest of which the ClintonLvdia
United Charities Drive
is a part.
The Emergency Fund is an
important reason why no further
solicitations have been
found necessary in the mills.

UNITED COMMUNITY CAMPAIGNS
Quite a number of families in
both villages have been helped
through this fund when
emergencies befell them.
Remember the dates for the
Red Feather ? October 24-29.
Help your mill to be 100 per
cent. Share a few of your dollars
to help lift some family
or child when they need it
most!
It is always a good idea to
keep your words soft and
sweet, because you never
know when you will have to
eat them.
It takes just about as much
effort to escape work as to
do it.
JOE NEELY. son of Mr. and
Mrs. Carlisle Neely, was presented
his Eagle award at ceremonies
last Sunday. Mr. Neely is Secretary
of Clinton Cotton Mills.
