FIVE RULES TO REMEMBER
FOR A PICTURE OF A
HAPPY CHILD: (1) Before
you take your youngster to
the photographer's, be sure
that he has been fed and rested.
(2) Take a favorite toy.
Most photographers have toys
on hand, but the familiar, cuddly
bear might just turn the
trick. (3) Dress the child simply
and comfortably in pastel
colors. Patterned materials,
beribboned dresses, fancy
bonnets, starched collars may
look dated after a few years.
(4) Avoid fresh haircuts and
special curl jobs, for they tend
to make children self-conscious
and unnatural. (5) Treat
the trip to the studio as an adventure
. . . The occasion will
be a happy experience for all
concerned; resulting portraits
will be a lifetime treasure.
