VOL. 4, NO. 6 Lydia Fishers Lead Clinton The Lydia Mills Fishing Club jumped into the lead over the Clinton anglers during the past month but it is still a toss-up in all divisions with plenty of good fishing weather ahead, plus the summer vacation which will give extra time to all of the plug tossers and worm pullers in both clubs. Current results at Lydia are as follows: Bass: Goyne Simpson, 8 pounds; Marvin Patterson, 7 pounds, 12 ounces; F. L. Bratcher, 7 pounds, 4 ounces. Permit No. 59 JUNE 15. 1955 Water Carnivals Are Planned For Pools July 2 There will be a lot of fun for young and old at both Clinton and Lvdia swimming pools Saturday, July 2. beginning at 9 A. M., as Fourth of July Water Carnivals are held. This is the first year that organized swimming classes have been held at both pools for various age groups, and a graduation ceremony for these youngsters win be neia during the morning. Chuck Leatherwood. who has just been to the National Red Cross Swimming and Lifesaving school at Brevard. N. C., will present various points in water and boat safety, including lifesaving, with the cooperation of the life guards. There will be swimming and diving exhibitions, including some clown diving, and the "world's champion underwater swimming" will put on a demonstration. No pool is complete without bathing beauties so there will be bathing beauty contests at both pools.
