The many friends of Mrs. Beatrice Richardson will regret to learn of her house being destroyed by fire while she was at work. Everything they had was lost. Anyone wanting to help them will be greatly appreciated. She has a son who is seven and a daughter 12. Mrs. Richardson wishes to thank the Community Chest for all they did for her and the family. NOVEMBER IS, 1954 Clinton Women Name Officers New officers of the Clinton Mills Women's Club were elected at the October meeting of the organization as follows: President, Mrs. Oscar Kinard; vice president, Mrs. Rufus King; second vice president, Mrs. C. E. Roberts; Secretary, Mrs. Tom Norris; assistant Secretary, Mrs. Eva West; Treasurer, Mrs. Frank Hancock; assistant Treasurer, Mrs J. L. Arnold and Reporter, Mrs. J. H. Donnar>. Mrs. Johnnie Haskins was welcomed as a new member of the club. A covered dish supper was enjoyed by members. Gifts were presented to the retiring president, Mrs. Allan Powers; secretary Mrs. Rufus King and Treasurer, Mrs. Eva West. Academy Midgets Have Good Year Academy Street wound up its 1954 midget football sea aun Willi u 11 vji 11 wi 1111 ig game against Laurens and came out on the top end of a 21-14 score. This left the squad with a 6 won and 2 lost record for the season. Coach Chuck Leatherwood said this year's team was one of the best yet in midget football in the Clinton community. Six Academy bovs were selected to play in the Annual Tom Thomb Bowl game which was held at Presbyterian College November 11. All-star players from Academy were Tony Hooper, tackle, Don Dunaway, guard; T r a r v PniidViman ininrrl Kinard Littleton, halfback and Terry Campbell, quarterback. Littleton led the Academy Street scorers for the season, scoring 12 touchdowns.
