a discharge July 28 at

Everyone certainly seemed
to enjoy the recent vacation
week. Some went fishing and
some went to the mountains
and beaches. ,
Paul Thornburg stayed ,
home and baby sat for his
sister who went to see their
brother at Walter Reid hospital.
He said he enjoyed that,
too.
Mary Thomas was off on
Saturday, July 12. Her son,
Kenneth, was home on leave 1
from the service.
The Goofers Club really
enjoyed a chicken dinner at
the Jones Cafe in Laurens
July 31.
Your reporter went fishing
during vacation. Caught a ,
few small catfish. I'm not ;
going to tell about the one
that got away, though. It was ,
a BIG one. Ha, ha.
Joel Templeton enjoyed a '
week at Natural Bridge, Va.,
and in Washington during ^
the vacation period.

our jobs again after a wonderful

at the Community Building

banquet and installation

The Girl's Auxiliary of
Lydia Baptist Church had
impressive coronation ceremonies
last month with Caroline
Bennett crowned Queen
and Joanne Leech the Queen
with Scepter.
Mrs. L. L. Leech gave the
introduction and explained
the organization of the Girl's
Auxiliary. The program was
under the direction of Mrs.
Clyde Trammell. Mrs. E. C.
Burdette gave the charges to
the maidens, the ladies in
waiting and the princess.
