The Business and Professional Women held their Christmas banquet December 9, with Miss Margaret Blakely presiding and Dollie Carr in charge of the entertainment . . there were many Kindergarter parties, including one given by Mrs. Ralph Nabors for Ralph, Jr. who was five and one by Mrs. J. B. (J Shields for Judy Ann, 5 . . Mrs. Bill Nelson gave a show er for Mary Crawford who was married in December Christmas vespers were given at Providence School Dec. 14 by the chorus directed by Mary Johnson and accompanied by Miss Clyde Smith. The program was recorded and broadcast Christmas day over WLBG . . . The Cub Scouts had their Christmas party at the Community House Dec. 15. George Fleming is Cubmaster and Mrs. Clyde Trammell, Den Mother . . . On Dec. 15, 32 Campfire girls went to the county home and gave a Christmas program. With the group were Mrs. J. B. Templeton, Mrs. Trannie Boozer, Mrs. Lois Webb. Mrs. Martha Bailev, George Fleming and Mrs. Wallace. December 22 with a number of Clinton and Lydia Scout officials joining the 500 others attending. Reports were heard on the progress of Boy Scout and Cub Scout activities in the area. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Shealy and Phyllis have returned home from Key W est, Fla. where he received his naval discharge after serving 17 months. Mrs. Shealy is the former Joan Davenport, daughter of the Joe Davenports. Mr. and Mrs. Spurgeon Todd and Robert visited his parents, the S. J. Todds. Christmas. Birthdays: Joe Todd.
