Crippen's lawyer, Solicitor
Arthur Newton, is getting 'more
notoriety out of the trial than
he bargained for. He has just
been suspended from practice
for a year and ordered to pay
the costs of the inquiry, for
aiding in the publication of cer

behalf.
A monument has been erected
in the Congressional cemetery
in Washington to the memory
of Mrs. Anne Royall, one of the
first woman publicists in this
country. Mrs. Royall was pub

Some Interesting Trips.
We all need, occasionally an
)Uting, to relax the bodv and
nind. Many people take ad
7antage of the excursions to the
;eashore or mountains for this
Iery purpose, and all who pat
'onize the Mahon & March
Janks excursions always "get
1heir money's worth,'' and a lit
Jle more.
For several years Mahon' &
Aarchbanks have been running
3xcursions to Atlanta, Charles
Lon, Knoxville, and other scenic
places, and they always have
large and well behaved crowds.
All who once go with them
want. to make a return trip.
Last week they ran a train to
Tallulah Falls, from Easley.
carrying about 200 people out. of
the county, some 40 odd going
from in. around and above Pick
ens, while towns along the
Southern R1a ilway furnished the
balance.

developing the falls for electric
al purposes: they are cutting ai
10x14 foot tunnel for 11 miles
through the mountain to turnl
the water through to where the
power house will be located.
Several on this trip spoke of
other trips that they had made
with Messrs. Mahon & March
banks. of their courtesy and
kindness to their patrons and
their effort and desire to give all
a good time. Those who have
made it, say the trip to Knox
ville. Tennessee. is the finest
outing any- one can take. This
trip runs lby Asheville, the
beautiful Swannanoa. French
Broad and duwn Pigeon river,
throumgh the Blue Ridge mo'un
tiins and lby some of the grand
est scenery~ in th. world and to
the best to vn in .the whole

Many from this county have

anything like the trip to the
Talhilah Falls. will be wc 11
